We are looking for a special someone with a passion for Jesus and a passion for children’s ministry to lead the children's ministry at the DeKalb Campus.
Our ideal candidate for this full-time pastoral role will be a relational shepherd with significant leadership skills. This person will serve as the leader and pastor of our DeKalb Campus children’s ministry and will be responsible for the overall spiritual health and success of the campus children’s programming. Their passion for their ministry areas will significantly be exhibited through the recruiting, leading, and training of a strong volunteer base to help execute the ministry as they invest in the spiritual growth of children and parents. As a vital part of the campus pastoral team, this person should have a shepherd’s heart and be able to help people walk through difficult situations with spiritual maturity and compassion.
Together with the one-church next gen staff, they will work to develop and implement a strategy for the evangelism and ongoing discipleship of all children within the ministry. Beginning with a group of six families in 1984, Christ Community Church has grown to over 5000 weekend attenders, including our DeKalb Campus in DeKalb County, Aurora Campus in southern Kane County, Streamwood Campus in Cook County, and most recently, the Huntley Campus in McHenry County. A significant focus on reaching spiritually lost people has resulted in over 200 new believers being baptized each year. Christ Community had humble beginnings with services held in a rented movie theater. Weekly activities now take place in our 100,000 square foot St. Charles Campus with weekend celebration services held in our 2000 seat auditorium.
