About the Church

Located in the suburbs of Seattle, New Life Fellowship is a growing church that attracts many who move from out of state to the expanding city. Due to tech giants such as Amazon and Microsoft, Seattle has become a hub for people all around our nation. Our mission is to expand God’s kingdom by making disciples of Christ that make disciples. We embody this through three values: worship, mission and community groups. Our vision is to plant campuses in the heart of Seattle and to surrounding cities that need the love of Christ.

ROLE

We’re looking for a full-time Youth Pastor that has a heart to grow, lead, and disciple youth students to live passionate lives for Jesus Christ.  The Youth Pastor will oversee the vision, culture, structure, and system of the youth ministry to teach and build up the faith of the youth students here at New Life Fellowship church.

CORE VALUES OF A YOUTH PASTOR

  • Gospel-Centered: The Gospel is the a-z of faith. Not the abcs.

  • Devotion over Duty: We desire a pastor who does ministry out of a love for Jesus and the people they are serving versus a pastor who is merely fulfilling a job requirement.

  • Relational - We desire a pastor who loves to walk with students and the staff and volunteers of the youth ministry

  • Missional: We desire a pastor who has a passion to reach the lost. We believe that we feed the insiders by focusing on the outsider.

  • Personal walk: We desire a pastor who is rooted in their personal and communal time with God in His Word and prayer and worship.

  • Teachable: We desire a pastor who has a desire to grow in their leadership, understanding and skills in ministry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and execute the vision, culture, structure, and systems of the youth ministry.

  • Provide vision, leadership, and direction to all aspects of the youth ministry.

  • Recruit, build and train volunteers to serve effectively in the Youth ministry.

  • Oversee all aspects of Sunday Youth Worship Service & Small Groups

  • Effectively teach and communicate God’s Word to students through weekly programs

  • Create, develop and implement a discipleship process where students are maturing in their relationship with God

  • Oversee, communicate and partner with parents in the spiritual walk of their children.

  • Create, organize, and execute the youth ministry events (activities, classes, retreats, etc).

  • Encourage and develop students to use their gifts and talents to minister and serve one another, the church as a whole, and their own communities.

  • Teach and exhort students to share their faith with others, and passionately invite their unsaved friends to church and a relationship with Jesus.

  • Provide pastoral care to students and volunteers of the ministry.

  • Plan and execute a yearly budget for the youth ministry.

  • Team player that contributes and works with other NLF staff, volunteers, and is willing to put aside personal agendas for the sake of the larger vision of the church. He/she will practice and uphold NLF’s core staff values.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS

  • To be present at all weekend services (excluding vacations).

  • To be above reproach (Titus 1:6-9, 1 Tim. 3:2).

  • To maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
