The Location Pastor (LP) serves as the primary leader for their CrossPoint location. While our Lead Teaching and Vision Pastor serves as the principle vision caster for our church, the Location Pastor carries our DNA into the culture in which the specific location resides. The LP role serves as a shepherd, as a developer, as a discipler, and as a leader in contextual ministry to the communities they serve.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead your Location each weekend to create an environment for people to encounter and worship God.
- Develop a healthy leadership team by recruiting and raising up key staff who will oversee the primary areas (weekend services, discipleship ministries, local outreach, etc.) of CrossPoint at the location.
- Lead and oversee the staff at the Location and work with them to build teams of ministry volunteers who will carry out the ministry of the church to impact the entire community.
- Lead and oversee the local location by reproducing the overall vision as well as the spiritual and cultural DNA of the Church.
- Communicate and re-communicate the culture stack of CrossPoint Church to the staff and the mission and vision to the congregation..
- Serve as the primary preacher/teacher for weekend services (and other key gatherings) at the Location when the teaching team is not scheduled to record a weekend teaching. This will happen approximately every other month.
- Be the primary overseer of serve teams and serve team leaders.
- Be the primary overseer of Grow Groups and Grow Group Leaders
- Meet with your staff at least on a bi-weekly basis.
- Intentionally build community and camaraderie with your staff.
- Build a customized strategy to reach the community based on the demographics, surrounding organizations, and the city of which our church is a part.
- Lead and organize outreach events and social/community activities for your location
- Follow-up with new individuals and families.
- Provide pastoral care to those who attend your location regularly.
- Work with Central Services in order to reproduce ministry at the specific Location. Such ministries include, but are not limited to: Family Ministry (CP Kids, CP Students, CP Collegiate), Worship, Host Teams, Grow Groups, and Pastoral Care.
- Responsible for the financial health regarding spending, of your location and knowing the big picture of the financial state of CrossPoint.
- Attend meetings and other responsibilities as set forth by your supervisor.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Desire and passion to serve Christ in the local church
- Biblically qualified (1 Timothy 3:1-7; 2 Timothy 2)
- High Initiative – researching and finding solutions.
- Confident in communication skills – verbal (comfortable and confident communicating in front of a large group), visual, written, and relational.
- Flexibility to plan and work on multiple projects simultaneously; effectively manage time and prioritize workload
- Recruiting, building and developing teams
- Positive interpersonal and influence skills
- An understanding of how technology can be used in ministry
- Planning, Prioritizing & Goal Setting
- Can communicate a calling and have a proven track record in making disciples and disciple makers.

- In agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message
Desired Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience with a church or para-church organization preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience and strong problem solving
- Good listening skills, tact, and consensus-building skills
- Passion for creating a serving culture
- Excellent people skills (EQ)

- Must be able to pass a federal and state background check
