Job Description:

The Call Church is seeking a passionate and driven full time pastor for our Jr. and Sr. high students. We are a non-denominational church in Pine Grove, located in the beautiful foothills of Northern California (approximately one hour away from Sacramento and 1.5 hours away from South Lake Tahoe). The Call is located in the rural county of Amador with approximately 40,000 people and a large amount of outdoor activities close by. (Hiking, lakes, watersports, snow skiing, etc…) Our average Sunday morning attendance is approximately 650 people and our Jr. and Sr. high programs have approximately 45 students in average weekly attendance. 

We are looking for a pastor who is deeply committed to their relationship with God and passionate about ministering to students. Our desire is to find someone who will build up the faith of those students who currently attend The Call Church while reaching the roughly 2300 Jr. High and High School students in our community that are not actively involved in church life.

Qualifications:

  • A professed commitment to Jesus Christ that is demonstrated through Christian growth and is a model of spiritual leadership and lifestyle in personal, ministry and family life.
  • Meets the qualifications of an elder/pastor from 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1: 5-9
  • A commitment to the pastors and staff of The Call Church, supporting the vision and philosophy of ministry. (Connect, Grow, Serve, Reach, and Worship)
  • Supports the ministry of The Call Church through regular prayer, financial giving, and attendance of church activities and events.
  • Must possess good communication skills and be an engaging and clear communicator of God’s Word. Must also be a self-motivated leader, possess a love for God and for people (especially students) and have a passion for both discipleship and evangelism.
  • Must possess good relationship skills with all age levels and basic administrative abilities.
  • Possess the attitude of a team player and also demonstrates a teachable spirit.
  • A college degree with a ministry emphasis is required. Also a minimum of 1-2 years of ministry experience in a church of a similar size with a proven track record of successful ministry.
  • Agrees to the standards set in the The Call Church Staff and Volunteer Core Values.

 

Youth Ministry Responsibilities:

Develop a youth ministry that fulfills the Vision of The Call Church:

Connect – a ministry that connects students to one another. Provide an atmosphere where jr. and sr. high students are connecting in relationships and building unity with one another.

Grow – a ministry that fosters spiritual growth in the lives of students. Develop a discipleship process where students are maturing in their relationship with God and taught how to continue their development as individuals through personal prayer, study of the Bible, memorization, etc…

Serve – a ministry where students are encouraged and developed to use their gifts to minister to one another, the church as a whole, and their community. Help students identify how God has shaped them to serve and giving them opportunities to exercise those gifts.

Reach – a ministry where students who don’t know Christ are being introduced to Him and where students are making first time decisions for Jesus. Developing a youth ministry where non-Christian students are coming and getting the opportunity to experience what church is all about. Develop a church culture where students who already believe in Christ are being taught how to share their faith with others and are passionate about inviting their unsaved friends to attend.  

Worship- a ministry environment where students are actively connecting with God through worship (music, prayer, etc…) and developing a youth culture where God is celebrated, honored and praised. 

 

  1. Continue the development of the Sunday morning Jr. high program and the mid-week programs to reach and minister to both Jr. high and Sr. high students.
  2. Recruit and motivate adult/student volunteers for leadership in the youth ministry program and meet consistently for encouragement, prayer, and ministry planning.
  3. Develop a core of student leaders equipping them to use their gifts in the youth ministry and in the Sunday morning service.
  4. Plan regular events for youth outreaches and service projects. Plan Winter and Summer Retreats/Camps.
  5. Be available for the needs of students and families who may be in need of ministry and partner with parents in the spiritual development of their students.
  6. Be involved in the student’s lives outside of the church and be present for school events, games, graduations, etc…

Expectations:

  1. Develop a clear vision with both short and long-term goals for the youth ministry.
  2. Develop a yearly budget for the Youth Ministry.
  3. Meet weekly with the Senior Pastor and staff for staff meetings, prayer, vision casting, and encouragement.
  4. Preach approximately 4-6 times a year in the adult service.
  5. Be a part of serving and planning for large church events (Burger Bash, Trunk n Treat, etc…)
  6. This position reports to the senior pastor and is accountable to the The Call Church Board.

Salary:

            Compensation for this position will vary based upon education and ministry experience.
