Lead Pastor Position

About EVCC

East Vancouver Community Church just celebrated 50 years of faithful service to our Lord and community! Our community of devoted believers is a close-knit congregation, comprising approximately 70-100 individuals. We are a warm, social, and family-oriented community that shares a deep love for God and a genuine care for one another. We strive for fellowship; our Sunday mornings consist of gathering for coffee, delicious treats, and connecting with one another.   Afterward, we make our way to the sanctuary, while the younger ones head off to children's church.

We have been blessed with the leadership of four pastors. Our current pastor and his family will be moving to a new form of ministry in June. We are seeking a godly pastor who will prayerfully shepherd our congregation through our next season of ministry by being committed to the following:

  • Prayer: Believing in the power of prayer and making it a high priority, encouraging the congregation to pray for each other, our church, and our community.
  • Bible-Centered: Leading us through the scriptures and applying them to our present-day lives.
  • Speaking: Communicate and deliver a clear and precise understanding of the scriptures on Sunday Mornings.
  • Outreach: Be mission-minded for our community and beyond by participating in events and utilizing current technologies to further God's reach for the unsaved.

Other Key Ministry Responsibilities:

  • Meet or be working on completing the requirements of the Evangelical Church of North America in accordance with the vision and doctrine of our beliefs.
  • To be approved by the superintendent and pursue ordination within the Evangelical Church of North America Conference.
  • Can work with and alongside other pastors and churches in our conference.
  • Lead and report to our Church Council, Pastor Parish Committee, and Trustees in making ministry and church decisions.
  • Work with our leadership team, paid staff, or volunteers and provide pastoral care through visitation, baptisms, weddings, funerals, counseling, and mentoring.
  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate the ministerial team and church staff.
  • Be willing to pursue personal growth through private study conferences or education.

EVCC Community Ministries

Our current ministries are dedicated to helping our community in various ways. Firstly, we operate a food bank that assists around 50 families every month. Additionally, we have a shut-in ministry that delivers meals to individuals who are recovering from medical issues. We support local schools by providing them with school supplies, and we also maintain regular communication with counselors to offer community support whenever needed.

Surrounding Community

East Vancouver Community Church is in Vancouver, Washington, with a population of about 200,000 residents. The surrounding community consists of both residential and multi-family dwellings. The church is within the Evergreen School District boundary, which is in the process of completing district-wide building renovations. The elementary, middle, and high school in the church neighborhood are complete.

Financial Arrangements:

The salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and education. It may be allocated as a salary and housing allowance, in alignment with IRS rules and regulations, to help with taxes.
