Capstone Church seeks a children’s lead teacher who loves Jesus, likes children, and desires to lead children’s ministry to present Jesus to the rising generation. The lead teacher would teach in the elementary service routinely.

  • Likes children and loves Jesus.
  • Enjoys and is experienced with, or eager to learn, social media on various platforms (FB, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc.).
  • Enjoys and is willing to lead fun, purposeful games with children, volunteers, and others.
  • Desires to teach elementary children’s services routinely on Sundays. Teaches on Wednesdays when necessary.
  • Prepares lessons for children’s ministry utilizing purchased curriculum.
  • Distribute lesson plans to volunteers.
  • Identifies, trains, empowers, and resources volunteers in children’s ministry, including, but not limited to, Sunday service, Wednesday service, and Vacation Bible School in collaboration with the Family Minister.
  • Organizes and attends summer camp.
  • Supervises and schedules paid nursery/childcare workers.
  • Supervises and schedules childcare for special events when necessary.
  • Supervises and supports the scheduling of children’s ministry volunteers. 
  • Follows and enforces the Ministry Safe Policy.
  • Regularly collaborates, communicates, and advises the Family Minister on programming, curriculum, and events.
  • Knowledge of, or eagerness to learn, various computer tools: Microsoft Office, Google Drive, social media, and ability to learn custom software.

The children’s lead teacher is a paid 15-hour-per-week position. The current structure allows a Wednesday teacher to lead most Wednesday nights. The children’s lead teacher can attend adult service in an “on-call” capacity. This time is for personal spiritual growth and rejuvenation.

 The current ministry structure of Capstone Church includes a monthly “family Sunday,” the first Sunday of the month. On the first Sunday of the month, elementary-age children and elementary leaders attend service with their families. 

The Wednesday teacher position is a 5-hour per week position. At the candidate’s request, Capstone will consider combining the two positions for a 20-hour/week position.

Capstone Church is a diverse, non-denominational church located in west Fort Worth, Texas, inside Loop 820. Services are Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.
