REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS
Commitment to gospel-centered sanctification and personal holiness.
A deep love for God, His Word, and the local church.
Will meet the criteria assigned to them in the Scriptures (I Timothy 3:1-13 & 5:17-22, Titus 1:5-9, I Peter 5:1-4).
Affirmation and agreement with the River Valley Complete Statement of Faith.

Both the candidate and their spouse must become a member of River Valley Church and fulfill the covenant requirements of membership.
A thorough understanding of church history as it pertains to worship and hymnology.
Proven leader as demonstrated by experience in building teams, managing people, and creating effective systems.
Ability to adapt with joy when unforeseen circumstances arise.
Candidate and spouse must pass state and federal background checks.
Candidate and spouse must prove financial responsibility through a credit check.
Spiritual and emotional maturity that will be reflected in personal and home life.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Corporate Worship
Plan and arrange biblical worship services in conjunction with the Senior Pastor.
Select music that is biblically faithful, theologically accurate, and singable by everyone.
Lead the congregation in singing each week as part of congregational worship each Lord’s Day.
Recruit, train, and develop dedicated musicians.
Lead musicians in providing accompaniment music for congregational singing.
Leadership & Administration
Ensure that all musicians are members in good standing and living godly lives.
Develop and maintain systems that allow team members to perform tasks assigned to them with clarity and excellence.
Coordinate scheduling of team members through proficient systems.
Oversee the selection, purchasing, and maintenance of audio/visual equipment as it pertains to the music ministry of the church.
Ensure that all legal requirements are met, i.e., copyright laws.
Wisely manage and be a good steward of the music ministry budget.
Other Assigned Tasks
Assist the RV staff with weekend/Midweek duties and special events as required.
Assist with other projects as assigned by the Executive Pastor.
