TITLE: Worship Pastor

Reports to:  Lead Pastor

Relates closely with: All Pastors, Elders, Worship Team members, and Volunteers

Hours:  Full Time

Snapshot: 

Northside Christian Church exists to Love God and Love Others. Our goal is to help people grow into fully devoted followers of Jesus.

Objective:

The role of the Worship Pastor is to work closely with the Lead Pastor and give the primary leadership for leading the congregation to carry out oversee the weekend worship experience and creative planning process. The Worship Pastor will execute our vision to cultivate a creative, vibrant, and attractive weekend worship experience for all age groups that help people grow in what it means to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus. The Worship Pastor will demonstrate pastoral leadership both on & off the platform as they not only lead the congregation to become movement-oriented, lifestyle worshippers but also builds & shepherds volunteer teams that live out what it means to Love God and Love Others.

The Worship Pastor Responsibilities Include: 

Music

• Oversight of weekly worship leading on Sunday Morning.
• Recruit/Audition band members and vocalists.
• Chart songs or utilize a chart-building subscription.
• Utilize click tracks through Multitrack or similar software.

Tech

• Oversee the AVL of Northside. Including sound, video, website, graphic design.
• Work with weekend Tech Directors to recruit/train volunteers.
• Ensure all AVL is up to date and maintained.

Service Prep

• Schedule worship team members, rehearsal times, report times, and service times weekly.
• Co-lead with the Senior Pastor the Worship Planning Meeting each week for service prep and assign tasks to be accomplished based on creative ideas.  
• Assist with planning and executing special service preparations, including Easter, and Christmas. 
• Load charts, mp3 files, and weekly service orders for volunteers in PCO.
• Manage the Worship Arts budget.

What You Bring: 

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Worship Pastor:

Education & Experience

• Leadership experience of 3-5 years as a Worship Pastor/Leader, preferred.
• Experience building and training teams in worship leadership, preferred.
• Experience leading worship in a church of 200+.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of Planning Center Online and experience leading with click/track.
• Must have solid communication, organization, scheduling, and planning abilities.
• Able to lead the congregation, both vocally and with a primary instrument.
• Working knowledge of technology necessary to coordinate music and technical elements, such as lyric display and lighting.
• Ability to work collaboratively and creatively with other Northside ministries.
• Must achieve deadlines in a timely and professional manner for creative and administrative tasks.
• Ability and willingness to grow and develop talent within the congregation.

Additional responsibilities:

• Help foster a staff culture of celebrating wins, appreciating volunteers, and where family is a priority.
• Supervise licensing/copyright/trademarks to ensure NCC is in compliance. 
• Attend weekly meetings and contribute for general planning/vision of Northside.
• Rotate with other Pastoral staff to carry out regular ministerial duties (hosting service, announcements, Pastor On Call, hospital visits etc).
• Tinker with current processes, procedures to discover opportunities to foster a culture of trying new things.
• Provide counsel and oversee the provision of AVL for special events (Weddings, Funerals, Programs etc).
• Other ministerial duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.

• Strong Vocalist and Musician.
• Experience successfully leading, recruiting and developing a team of volunteers.
• Serves as a team player who encourages and supports the rest of the team.
• Able to deal with conflict directly, openly, honestly and graciously.
