The Tech Director oversees the development, implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to support Christ Community Church’s mission of “Connecting people to life-defining relationships in Christ.” This role comprises two primary areas of oversight and direction: AVL and IT technologies as they intersect with AVL. It requires competency in both with high AVL proficiency in support of worship ministry.
This person directs all AVL operations, tech staff, volunteers, and processes, and supports basic church IT needs. They maintain existing technology, develop new solutions, and are responsible for day-to-day operations of information, network, and AVL systems. They provide industry standard expertise, consistent leadership, and team-building skills that enhance the church and the specific mission of gathered worship.
Under guidance of the worship pastor, this is a coaching role requiring a capacity and desire to develop others. In line with the church and the EFCA, this person must be a committed follower of Jesus, dedicated to ongoing growth in their faith in a way that provides a positive and consistent witness to others.
Christ Community is a multigenerational church of over 60 years committed to connecting people to life-defining relationships in Christ. Located in a thriving college town (Iowa State, Big 12), we serve a wide demographic, including college students and a large international community. We are passionate about family enrichment and international care. We hold firmly to the EFCA statement of faith. We have a well-developed set of missional values and beliefs. We offer two simultaneous services on Sunday with a modern venue and a traditional. We support a large pool of missions partners, both local and overseas. We use our gymnasium and significant field to offer a large sports ministry program year-round (Upward). We believe in purposeful responsiveness. This is made clear through many community partnerships, initiatives, and events. In the past two years we navigated a healthy lead pastor transition and sense an honest energy about the future. We are a church made stable by the faithful longevity of many of our members while envigorated by a growing congregation of new families and leaders. We enjoy a positive, growing staff culture and believe our best days are ahead.
