Music Director for Jordan Lutheran Church (Part Time)
Keyboardist/Accompanist and Music Coordinator for Soloists, Choir, Youth & Children’s Music
Up to 12 hours a week
$20-$25 per hour (based on experience)
Jordan Lutheran Church is seeking an energized and organized musician to help lead our congregation in musical worship. We love music and enjoy combining the Church’s historic liturgy and hymns with beautiful and moving contemporary songs. Music is a vital part of congregational life and for that reason a candidate is being sought who has a growth mindset to grow and expand our ministry through music.
The candidate will be able to play piano and possibly another instrument. The role will work with the Pastor to plan and prepare music for worship. This includes but is not limited to choir, youth and children’s music group(s), praise band as well as soloists.
All interested candidates should apply even if they do not have skills in all areas listed below.
Typical Week: Sunday 8:30AM - 11:30AM and 5-10 hours of preparation and rehearsals which take place on 1-2 weekday evenings (mid-week availability is needed).

Congregational Music - Keyboard Preparation
Music is part of the entire worship service at Jordan Lutheran. Music is selected weeks in advance to permit the Music Director to consider when to use different musical groups or individuals to enhance congregational worship life.
Special Music and Ensemble Scheduling
Rehearsals for ensembles and soloists typically occur during the week. Jordan has an office in Apex which permits evening rehearses for groups and individuals. We seek a candidate who is able to teach and develop vocalists and musicians. We have people of varied talents who will all benefit from someone able to grow skills and abilities of volunteers offering their time and talents with the congregation.

Our Sunday worship services are held at 309 Holleman Street in Apex starting at 10 AM. Our congregation is passionate about encountering the Lord who comes to us through the water of baptism and in the Lord’s Supper as we embrace the Word of God in the Bible as we are led by the Holy Spirit to impact all nations with the love of Jesus Christ for all people. This fall the congregation paid off its debt on 6.2 acres in Apex which is going to be developed to house a permanent site for years to come. We look forward to finding a candidate eager to grow with us over the coming years.

Jordan Lutheran Church is a growing congregation in Apex, North Carolina. We are passionate about embracing the Word of God, celebrating the mercy of the Lord and caring for our neighbors. The congregation currently meets in a rented location and is developing a six acre site in town for future development. Our address listed is the office we maintain in town for mid week events our Sunday worship location is located near downtown Apex.
