Worship Pastor

SCOPE OF WORK  

We love to worship Jesus with passion and joy at Real Life. We have a desire to grow our worship culture and draw people to a powerful and life-changing encounter with Jesus through worship. If you love to lead worship, love to lead people, love to make disciples and love to see worship leaders raised up, there might be something for us to get excited about together.  

The Worship Pastor at Real Life Spokane is our point leader for our worship and production ministry at Real Life. This role is essential to the strength and health of our church. Recruiting and team building create an opportunity for hundreds of people to experience Jesus in our kids, youth and adult services weekly. Our Worship Pastor will lead the way in creating a team of teams that makes our worship experiences powerful and impactful. This role is a fun and unique role at Real Life because you will get to work with so many musicians and artists and create a culture together.   

THE PERSON 

• First and foremost, our Worship Pastor will be a committed and professing believer in Jesus Christ, of good character and conduct, consistently seeking to honor the Lord in his life and ministry. He will be a person of integrity and rigorously honest in all aspects of life.  
• The Worship Pastor will develop a strong sense of call to the role, and be in alignment and agreement with the beliefs, values, and mission of Real Life. Real Life Spokane aligns with a complimentarian theological biblical viewpoint when it comes to gender roles within the church, so we are looking for a male worship pastor.
• The Worship Pastor must be ordained by an appropriate ordaining process or be willing to walk through Real Life’s ordination process immediately upon hiring. 
• The Worship Pastor must be passionate about making disciples and committed to personally leading a small group.  
• The Worship Pastor will need to present a friendly, approachable manner to the staff, volunteers, church, and the public.  
• The Worship Pastor will need a capacity to learn on the job and have a willingness to complete additional training as determined from time to time.  
• The Worship Pastor must be able to interact with staff and volunteers in an honest and encouraging manner.  
• What we need from you: to have a bunch of smiles, to demonstrate love for people, to be great on the phone, to be able to lead multiple volunteers and teams of volunteers, to have strong computer skills, to have lots of energy, to be an amazing worship leader, to be well-versed in current worship trends, to be creative in song and set selection, to be able to keep a tight schedule, to maintain appropriate confidentiality?and have the ability to focus without anyone breathing down your neck.  

SPECIFIC WORSHIP PASTOR DUTIES 

• Cast vision regularly for individual and team discipleship 
• Create personal growth plans for leaders on your teams and coach them to success  
• Invest in current and future leaders, making sure they are supported and encouraged 
• Recruit musicians and production volunteers 
• Plan and execute powerful adult worship services and programs  
• Develop teams of volunteers for all services and events 
• Ensure the entire team is aligned with Real Life’s mission, strategy and values 

VOLUNTEERING  

As an employee of Real Life Spokane, any time spent during your normal work hours or fulfilling your job description duties for the specific ministry area you are a part of will be considered hours worked and you will be compensated for those hours. If you desire to volunteer in another area of ministry and it falls outside of your normal working hours, you can do so.

Pursuant of RCW 50.44.040 as a church employee you may not be eligible to receive unemployment benefits based on such services. 

COMPENSATION  

Employment start date: OCT 1st, 2023 

ANNUAL SALARY: $70,000/year for 40 hours/week 

Benefits: Vacation and Sick time accrues annually with up to 3 weeks of paid vacation annually, matching contributions up to 3% in SIMPLE IRA, $500.00/month medical stipend, 4 weeks of paternity leave.
