Job Overview

The Family Pastor, working under the guidance of the Senior Pastor, is responsible for developing, administrating, and evaluating a comprehensive ministry to children, students, college students and adult men. His primary responsibility is on the spiritual growth of the children, students and their families as well as the adult men. To enhance his ministry, it is imperative that he build a leadership team in each area. He is expected to prioritize building relationships with the students and their parents.

Specific responsibilities

  1. Children’ Ministry:
    • Supervise the Children’s Ministry Director; review and approve curriculum and programs; evaluate performance and metrics.
    • Work with CM Director to create and administrate CM budget.

  2. Student ministry:
    • Provide spiritual care for students, their parents/families and youth workers.
    • Recruit and train workers and mentors.
    • Develop leaders among the students helping all students to develop and exercise their God-given spiritual gifts.
    • Teach the students Sunday School class and Bible studies.
    • Lead by mentoring and encouraging students to serve others, their church, each other, and our community, as well as through local and foreign mission opportunities.
    • Plan activities that develop community among students and outreach events that will draw unchurched students.
    • Train/equip students to know their faith and to share their faith.
    • Plan and lead Summer camp for MS & HS, a mission’s trip each year for HS, and a local mission’s project for MS.
    • Plan and promote fundraisers to offset cost for student participation in activities and camp.
    • Administrate the youth ministry Facebook, Instagram and youth pages on our website keeping them current and attractive.
    • Provide assimilation activities for rising 6th graders and assist graduating seniors with college/career options and ministry.
    • Research and promote conferences for students to attend or that we can host that would enhance our student ministry and/or outreach.
    • Develop and administrate YM budget.
    • Communicate with parents regarding YM activities and opportunities to support it.
  3. Life Groups
    • Oversee Life Groups and their strategic growth.
    • Oversee any training or meetings related to Life Groups.

  4.  Men’s Ministry
    • Recruit and develop ministry leaders. 
    • Provide oversight of all activities, classes, and budget.

Experience, training and education requirements

  • Must confirm to having accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord and to having been baptized by immersion since conversion.
  • Must have a call to serve as a Youth Pastor.
  • Must have a minimum of 2-5 year of youth ministry experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and social media
  • Must have, as a minimum, a four-year degree from a Bible college; a seminary degree is preferred, especially in Youth Ministry.
