Executive Pastor

Victor Community Church is a vibrant, growing family church in Victor, NY approximately 16 miles Southeast of Rochester in the Finger Lakes region. We worship God in an upbeat, contemporary style and teach straight from the Bible. Our focus is on Jesus Christ and learning to be more like Him. VCC was birthed/planted in 2008 because 23 people who attended Pittsford Community Church at the time desired a family church in their own community. They began by meeting regularly in homes and grew rapidly.  After a few years in 3 temporary locations, we found our current property where we created our fellowship’s home in 2016.

We are seeking an experienced, innovative, energetic, & relational leader of leaders to serve as our Executive Pastor. This person will contribute to our overall mission of making loving disciples of Jesus Christ who worship, grow, serve and share. 

Qualifications include:

• Strong sense of calling and identity in Christ
• Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams and individuals
• Ability to engage a multi-generational and diverse church family
• Good oral and written communication skills
• A college degree is preferred

Summary

         The Executive Pastor will work in harmony with the Lead Pastor in leading and overseeing various aspects of church operations, potentially including guest experience, discipleship, outreach, administration and other areas that fit the gifting of the candidate. This will help to accomplish our overall mission of making loving disciples of Jesus Christ who worship, grow, serve and share.

Responsibilities

1. Administration
   1. Member of Deacons to provide oversight to support ministries and facility management.
   2. Liaison with Income and Expenses Treasurers to provide oversight to areas of finance and human resources.
2. Adult Discipleship
   1. Oversee and coordinate newcomer processes
   2. Oversee the provision of discipleship process and education
   3. Recruit, train and empower people for discipleship ministry
3. Other Areas of Ministry based on gifting, passion, need
   1. Oversee and coordinate areas of ministry
   2. Recruit, train and empower people for areas of ministry
4. Be a good steward of all assigned resources
   1. Oversee designated budget lines
   2. Maintain accurate records
   3. Oversee care, maintenance and storage of materials, equipment, etc.
5. Participate in regular staff meetings and personal development opportunities
6. Perform other ministry tasks as needed
7. Perform an average of at least 40 hours weekly

Relationships

1. The Executive Pastor works under the direct supervision of and is accountable to the Lead Pastor
2. The Executive Pastor must work harmoniously with the congregation
3. The Executive Pastor must work harmoniously within the context of the staff team
4. The Executive Pastor shall become a member of VCC
5. The Executive Pastor may network with other pastors in similar positions
