Title:
Associate Pastor of Education and Pastoral Care
Purpose:
The Minister of Education is responsible to the Pastor for providing staff leadership to the church's education and discipleship programs. This involves assisting the church program leaders in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive ministry of Christian education and discipleship. In addition, he will be responsible for pastoral and senior adult care.
Responsibilities:
Sunday School
- Lead the church in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive Sunday School program that acts as the church’s chief means of outreach, in-reach, fellowship, and discipleship.
- Develop a culture in the Sunday School department that focuses on growth through starting new classes.
- Develop, recruit, train, and deploy qualified leaders and teachers in the Sunday School departments and classes.
- Serve as an educational resource person and advisor to the leaders of all church programs and committees.
- Lead the church to be aware of the educational and discipleship curriculum available and choose the most suitable one.
Pastoral Care
- Ensure that all those within the congregation are cared for in the event of a physical, financial, emotional, or spiritual crisis requiring additional care from the congregation or pastoral staff.
- Provide visitation to church members who are hospitalized, bereaved, homebound, or in retirement communities.
- Assist the Deacons in executing the Deacon Family Ministry Plan.
- Act as the pastoral liaison to the Benevolence Ministry Team.
Senior Adults
- Lead the Senior Adult Ministry Team to plan, conduct, and evaluate monthly and annual events and outings for Senior Adults.
- Assist the Homebound Ministry Team leader in ensuring all homebound members are visited and cared for.
Church Wide
- Lead the church’s First Impressions Ministry Team by recruiting, training, and evaluating needed volunteers.
- Assist the Pastor in planning, conducting, and evaluating congregational services as requested.
- Serve on the Church Council.
- Coordinate the production of informational and public relations materials such as the church website, publications, and news releases related to assigned areas.
- Prepare and submit a budget for each assigned area and plan and administer the investment and spending of the funds budgeted.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Qualifications:
- A personal, observable relationship with Jesus Christ and a sense of God’s calling to serve the church as a pastor.
- Unwavering commitment to the proper teaching of the Scriptures and the discipling of people.
- A passion to see Christians grow in Christ.
- Personality that relates effectively to caring for adults, organizing Sunday School departments, and leading others.
- Giftedness in leadership, recruitment, teaching, and organizational management.
- Ability to maintain a healthy ministry/family balance.
Beliefs and Values:
Must hold to conservative Southern Baptist theology and affirm the beliefs outlined in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $63,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
Schedule:
Office Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm
Services: Wednesday nights, Sundays, and special events as scheduled

North Conway Baptist Church was a church plant started in 1956. Today, it averages 320 in Sunday morning worship and 270 in Sunday School. It is an established church with a new Senior Pastor and a new vision for reaching young families in our community. It still relies heavily on Sunday School as a model for growth and health.
Education: Seminary Education (Masters - Preferred)(SBC Seminary – Preferred)
Experience: 5+ Years of Full Time Ministry (10+ Preferred)
