Meet NewLife Church
NewLife Church is celebrating 23 years of serving the Des Moines area and surrounding suburbs with the goals of knowing Jesus, discovering purpose, finding community, and living the mission. This position will have the support of five paid administrative staff and seven elders along with a large family of volunteers. We are blessed with a modern worship center situated on 10 acres of land. In the fall of 2023, the church added a new 7,300 square feet addition (NextGen Center) to our current facility for the primary purpose of supporting the youth and children ministries.

Qualifications of the Student Director
- Must be a Jesus follower who lives a life of integrity and pursues a personal relationship with Jesus
- Must love Students and feel called to this specific area of ministry
- Must have a high level of skills in recruiting, developing, and training volunteers and implementing effective programs
- Must have a high level of written and personal communication skills, both with students and adults
- Must have servant leadership skills with experience in team building and mentoring
- Must have a self-starter attitude to own projects and run with them
- Must be willing to have fun along the way
- Must stay up to speed with the student culture
- Must be actively engaged in the digital culture
- Must be innovative
Position Roles and Responsibilities:
- Champion the vision and strategy for student programming for 6th - 12th grade in alignment with the overall mission, vision and strategies of NewLife Church
- Inspire, recruit, train and empower volunteers to lead in all programs
- Equip parents to engage with the Gospel at home and in ministry with their neighbors
- Participate in small groups and be a regular worshipper at NewLife Church
- Attend weekly staff meetings and report to the Lead Pastor
- Have hands on oversight of Student Ministry budget

- Other duties as assigned that support the health and function of NewLife Church
