POSITION DESCRIPTION
To help teenagers experience Jesus in a dynamic and safe youth ministry environment at St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Youth & Family Director

POSITION DETAILS
We are seeking a Youth Ministry Coordinator to work with the Youth & Family Director to help plan, create, and execute youth programming so teenagers can experience Jesus at St. Mark.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in youth ministry, an outgoing and energetic personality, a heart to connect with teenagers, and an eagerness to serve. The candidate must have a collaborative spirit and a dedication to the overall mission, vision, and values of St. Mark.

Since 1957, St. Mark has served the community of Battle Creek, MI with a mission to “lay down our lives so as many as possible experience Jesus.”

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:

• a sincere Christian faith & lifestyle
• a history of working with teenagers
• the ability to connect with teenagers on a personal level
• proficiency with computers and financial management software
• excellent interpersonal skills in a team-based work environment
• a professional approach and high ethical demeanor

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Youth Ministry Coordinator will:

• work with the Youth & Family Director to create an annual curriculum
• plan and deliver messages for teenagers
• create Small Group Discussion Guides for youth leaders
• help recruit, train, and lead youth volunteers from the congregation
• be a regular attender at St. Mark Lutheran Church worship services

PAY AND BENEFITS:

Part-Time

$15-$16/hr

60% reduced child tuition at Our World for Children day school

Paid time off

SCHEDULE

• Self-determined schedule, including face time with the Youth & Family Director
• Sunday mornings and Sunday nights
