Purpose:


Living Hope Church is a dynamic Assembly of God Church in Northwest Indiana area that is seeking a highly 
motivated, passionate, and experienced leader who can oversee the operational and administrative aspects of the 
Church. The Administrative Pastor serves in leadership over the business functions in compliance with established 
policy of LHC and succeeds by applying sound Biblical principles in the development and execution of systems and 
strategies to improve the operational health of the Church. This position is responsible to oversee the business, 
finance, facility, and human resources, while engaging closely with the Senior Pastor, Treasurer, Secretary, staff, 
volunteers, and partners to leverage ministry effectiveness.


Essential Functions:


Finances


• Initiate annual budget preparation and help problem solve budget issues with department heads and LHC 
Board of Deacons
• Oversee and direct LHC accounting practices in accordance with policy and in conjunction with the 
Treasurer
• Oversee staff expenditure and procedures
• Ensure donations/collections procedures are clear and secure in accordance with established policy
• Ensure banking operations are managed properly
• Provide final authority, within parameters set by Board of Deacons, in any day-to-day purchases, 
investment and financial decisions
• Develop and maintain relationships that enhance the implementation of the overall financial plan 
• Oversight of risk management within policy established by the BOD and Treasurer
• Oversee the budget and financial affairs of Good Shepherd Day Care


Multi-Campus Facilities


• Oversee and manage all employees, contractors, and workers related to the upkeep of facilities 
(Maintenance, grounds, janitorial, admin, etc.). This includes, but is not limited to:
o Ensure all church property is in good condition
o Prioritize necessary repairs to be done in the most economical manner and within the limitations 
of the Church budget
o Anticipate extraordinary maintenance required and make recommendations for budget 
consideration, action to be taken
o See that the Church buildings and grounds are maintained to standards of cleanliness and 
appearance that benefits the status of this church in the community
• Oversee the Church master schedule for groups, organizations, and classes to make most effective use of 
LHC space
• Oversee the management of the church calendar
• Manage contracts and guidelines for the use of church property and oversee the adherence to these 
guidelines within established policy
• Keep abreast of all laws and regulations affecting church property
• Oversee security of the grounds and maintain security and safety plan
• Oversee maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds
• Oversee shared space for operation of Good Shepherd Daycare


Human Resources


• Manage the hiring, training and evaluation process for administrative staff within BOD policy
• Maintain personnel files for all staff members
• Review and evaluate total competitive benefits for LHC for recommendations to the BOD
• Provide recommendations to the BOD for church policies updates and oversee implementation
• Ensures regular staff performance reviews are completed in a timely manner and oversees development 
planning for all staff
• Develop and maintain expert volunteer relationships that enhances the implementation of the overall 
human resources plan


Staff Team Leadership & Communication


• Leads strategic planning goal sessions or staff planning retreat days
• Quarterly check -up on progress with measurable staff team goals
• Lead and participate in key activities and regular meetings:
o Weekly Staff Meetings
o Weekly Leadership Meetings


Pastoral Shepherding


• Support the Senior Pastor in teaching as well as the development and direction of sermon series and 
spiritual growth of the congregation
• Meet with members of the congregation and community for pastoral care & direction
• Commit to prayer and intercession
• Offer pastoral input and discernment to spiritual matters, directions, and conversations of the Church
• Respond to family and community tragedies with care and comfort


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • A mature, strong, and growing relationship with Jesus, heart for the local Church, and a passion to see 
    individuals and families in the community to be transformed by the Gospel.
  • Active participant in weekly/weekend worship and other Church activities
  • A willingness & desire to develop and implement systems that will provide a stable foundation on which 
    staff and Church members can innovate, think differently, and pursue and launch ministry efforts that 
    reach the present changing culture.
  • A bachelor’s degree and/or expertise in Ministry, or Theology, or Biblical Studies, or related field and/or A degree in Business Management or other related field is valued but not required.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in growing roles in a ministry or business context with multi-site operations. A business-related background would require evidence of ministry involvement and a calling to more direct ministry activity. A ministry related background would require experience in the business aspects of church activity.
  • A bachelor's degree and/or expertise in both a ministry related field and in a business manaagement or accounting related field.
  • Agrees with the Statement of Faith of LHC and the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God.
  • Agrees to a background check by our search team during hiring process.
  • Experience preaching and/or teaching within the Church is preferred but not required
  • Self-starter and able to gather, multiply and lead teams
  • Proficient in Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to build and manage administrative systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at the same time
