Moses Lake Alliance Church is seeking a Lead Pastor whose character displays a deep love for Jesus,
grounding in the Word, commitment to prayer, and is bold in his faith. This pastor will
have maturity with relational warmth and strong people skills. He will also demonstrate a
humble and teachable spirit and strive to be a life-long learner. We are looking for a man
who models passion to reach people for Christ, both locally and around the world, and
who is joyful, energetic, and displays a good sense of humor.
The Constitution of The Christian and Missionary Alliance states, “The Senior (Lead)
Pastor shall have oversight of the church.” As a member of the Board, the Lead Pastor is
directly accountable to the Board, then in turn to the members of MLAC. He will also be
accountable to the Superintendent of the Alliance Northwest District.
Our next Lead Pastor will meet the Biblical qualifications stated in Scripture. We expect
him to be in full agreement with the C&MA Statement of Faith and the C&MA Constitution.
It is essential that he be either ordained by the C&MA, or will complete the process
necessary to attain such ordination.
The MLAC is praying that our next pastor:
- Is clearly called by God to serve and lead our congregation
- Be a man of prayer who has a heart for missions
- Is committed to consistent personal time of Biblical study and reflection
- Will preach Biblically rooted and practical, life applicable messages
- Is supportive of MLAC Vision and Mission Statements
- Will have three to five years of pastoral experience (preferred)
- Leadership ability has been clearly demonstrated in previous roles and relationships
- Desires accountability to fulfill his responsibilities & maintain healthy team connections
- Is able to keep confidential information
- Allows Scripture, prayer and Godly counsel to shape his decision-making process
- Is able to think creatively, applying new ideas in ways that are positive & effective
- Affirms and cultivates the talents and gifts of others
- Gives skillful and considerate guidance in areas of administration, counseling, mentoring, management and staff interactions
- Has a seminary degree (preferred), or a BA in Bible and Theology or comparable
- Is able to connect well with a diverse community of both rural and academic lifestyles
- Is interested in working with other life giving churches in Moses Lake
- Values empowering, delegating, and mentoring other leaders without feeling threatened
- Values and models peacemaking and reconciliation
- Is capable of bridging the generations, providing ministries for senior adults, while attracting younger singles and families
- Is able to facilitate an environment where people feel welcome, loved, and free to be transparent.
