Worship Pastor

Engage Boise is seeking a worship pastor to join a growing church in the heart of Boise, Idaho. This position is half time, with the hope that the candidate eventually becomes a full-time employee. Engage Boise is a church in the middle of a revitalization, with both an established core and group of young people and families that grows each week. We believe that if we love the family – both the family in our homes and the family of God - we can change the world. We do this by answering our call to Christ, our call to worship, and our call to serve. Our worship style is contemporary and modern, with 90-100 in average attendance. Pay: Half-time - 24,000/year

Responsibilities:

Lead worship Sunday mornings (4 songs, 20-25 minutes), Wednesday nights (2-3 songs, 15-20 minutes), and special services.

Administrate band, vocal, and A/V teams, including timely scheduling on Planning Center.

Actively pastor the people and families that are involved in your teams – staff at Engage Boise are shepherds first and foremost.

Make sure A/V/L is prepared and maintained. Being an expert isn’t necessary, but working with the team and staff towards excellence in this area is important.

Report to, work closely with, and meet regularly with the lead pastor.

Recruit new volunteers and adequately assess skill, ability, and heart.

Approximately two days in the office per week, not counting Sunday morning/Wednesday night services – the goal for this position is 20-25 hours/week with an understanding that different weeks require different schedules when it comes to ministry.

The qualified candidate for this position:

Has a heart for people that values people above performance.

Leads worship in a way that is spirit-led and able to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in a worship service.

A heart that leads with a vertical focus – we worship God because He is good, not because of how good our circumstances are.

Has a heart for those that do not know Jesus or are currently far from Him – Southeast Boise is the most diverse area of Boise and a melting pot of cultures, ethnicities, and political viewpoints.

Leads worship with excellence vocally.

Plays an instrument that can be used to lead worship proficiently – guitar, piano, etc.

Has an ability to lead worship well regardless of team size – comfort with leading on your own and in any situation is important.

Has an understanding of music and how to communicate it to band members, vocalists, and A/V team members.

Has a basic understanding of Audio/Visual/Lighting (Audio mixers, Pro Presenter, DMX).

Is familiar with modern worship music, keeps up on it, and approaches it with a trained and studied eye/heart.

Has a willingness to learn and grow personally and practically.

Is a good team player, and willing to participate in helping other areas of ministry happen when necessary.
