CAMPUS PASTOR

The Point Church is actively seeking a Campus Pastor to join our pastoral staff team for a replant project we are undertaking.  Our mission is “Loving people to the Point of life: Jesus Christ.”  The Point is a church passionate about Kingdom growth, helping churches share the gospel, and fulfill the Great Commission.  We’ve recently entered into a replant partnership with a sister church in our town. It will initially become a campus of The Point Church.  Our goal is for this congregation to once again be healthy and reach their community for the sake of Christ. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is called to church planting but also thrives in a collaborative team dynamic.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 Specific responsibilities for the Campus Pastor include but are not limited to:

  • Function collaboratively as a member of the teaching team under the guidance of the Senior Pastor
  • Teach/Preach in weekly gatherings
  • Oversee the weekend worship gathering in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and Worship Pastor and communicate with the campus staff and volunteer teams about the weekly plan. This includes:
    • Welcome/Announcements (either video or live)
    • Coordination of weekly media needs (videos, sermon slides, on-screen scripture passages, etc.)
    • Musical worship and transitions
    • Scripture Reading
    • Corporate Prayer Emphases
    • Receiving an offering
    • Preaching the sermon
    • Giving an invitation
    • Engaging with the response
    • Administering the sacraments of Communion and Baptism
  • Develop a healthy leadership structure by recruiting and raising up key leaders who will oversee the primary areas of the campus ministries.
  • Lead and oversee the primary leadership team at the campus and work with them to build teams of ministry volunteers who will carry out the ministry of the church to impact the entire community.
  • Be intentional about learning the vision, mission, and strategy of The Point Church  
  • Lead and oversee the campus as an "extension" of The Point Church by reproducing the overall vision, mission, and strategy as well as the spiritual and cultural DNA of the Church.
  • Implement The Point Church’s Discipleship Strategy in collaboration with the Teaching Pastor.
  • Be the primary recruiter of volunteers and leaders for ministries and small groups:
    • Meet, invest, support, & encourage the campus volunteer leaders
    • Meet with your Ministry Leaders on a consistent basis
    • Build community and get to know the campus leaders
  • Build a customized strategy to reach the community based on the demographics, surrounding organizations, and the specific community. Uniqueness should be an expression of our vision. Not separate, but unified with who we are as one church in two locations.
  • Lead and organize outreach events and social/community activities for the campus
  • Follow-up with new guests, and coordinate with the Teaching Pastor about hosting periodic Start Point events (our new/prospective members class)
  • Provide pastoral care to the members of the campus
    • Set attainable faith goals for campus and communicate the strategy to achieve those goals with Point Church pastoral team
  • Work with key main campus leaders in order to reproduce ministry at the campus. Such ministries include, but are not limited to: Family Ministry, Worship, Production, First Impressions, D-Groups, Pastoral Care and Service Programming, etc.
  • Attend meetings and other duties as set forth by the Senior Pastor
  • Be present and an active participant at all Point Church joint campus events.

  • In agreement with The Point Church beliefs as well as the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
