Senior Pastor

Hope Community Church in Hudson, Ohio is actively seeking a new lead pastor who will seek the Lord’s vision through prayer and lead the church with integrity and humility toward the mission God has for us.  The successful candidate will be a strong missional leader who, through articulate exegetical preaching, will challenge the congregation to grow in spiritual maturity and have a vision to reach the lost in our local communities.  We are seeking a pastor with five or more years of preaching and leadership experience.  The preferred candidate is a spiritually and emotionally mature pastor who can work effectively with an experienced ministry staff.  A candidate already licensed with the C&MA is preferred; but all candidates must be willing and able to meet accreditation and ordination requirements with the C&MA. 

Preaching/ teaching

• Exegetical preaching- teaching based on the original and intended meaning of a passage of scripture.
• Thorough knowledge of the Bible. 
• Preaches Biblical values and truths from the pulpit.
• Able to communicate how he sees God working through life experiences and how to apply this truth to our individual lives.
• A teaching style that draws you in rather than distracting and is relatable. 

Leadership skills

• A leader that is more tactician, uses a carefully planned strategy to achieve a specific end.
• Someone who is a great shepherd to the staff.
• Positive motivator who is innovative and creative.
• Leads by example and empowers others.
• Someone who has a high emotional intelligence, ie. the ability to understand, use, and manage his emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict.
• Able to model and teach conflict resolution in a biblical manner.
• Be able to have honest, open, transparent, and tough conversations with people.
• We seek a leader who sets and keeps boundaries (spiritual, personal and work/life balance). 

Spiritual disciplines - Personal life 

• Disciplined prayer life and quiet time
• Honoring the Lord, seeking God's wisdom and discernment in all things. 
• Gospel Driven:  Strong commitments to infallibility of Scripture, Jesus Christ as Creator and Lord, and Biblical moral principles in day to day life.
• Evidence of the fruits of the Holy Spirit in his life.
• Accountability should be important to him and he should surround himself with men who will hold him to God's standard. 

Evangelism/Discipleship 

•  Passion to reach the lost 
•  Passion to grow Christians into spiritual maturity.  Inspiring us to go deeper in our personal walks with the Lord. 
• A man that elevates those around him by encouraging them to use their gifts and talents.   
• Sensitive to the discipleship needs and issues of a diverse congregation.

Compensation

• Salary is negotiable depending on education and experience.
