Christwalk Family Ministries Pastor

The Family Ministries Pastor reports to the Executive Pastor. They serve as the Director  over all next generation ministries (birth - high school), as well as life groups.

The Family Ministries Pastor will lead part-time staff members in the execution of family ministries.

Job Description

KIDS MINISTRY - Coordinate an effective ministry strategy from birth through 5th grade

• Lead staff and volunteers who provide leadership for all ministry to children.
• Provide Pastoral leadership to kids ministry staff and leaders to ensure that they are cared for, equipped and in alignment of vision.
• Evaluate curriculum needs and implement age-appropriate discipleship efforts that connect one ministry to the other.
• Provide regular communication to families about the role the church desires to play in the discipleship effort of their children.
• Oversee the programs and efforts of Christwalk Kids on Sunday morning, kids events, & summer programming to impact families.
• Continually recruit possible Christwalk Kids team members.
• Ensure that each new volunteer passes a background check, receives initial and ongoing training in their areas of responsibility and is released to do ministry.

YOUTH MINISTRY - Coordinate an effective ministry strategy for middle and high school students

• Prepare a content schedule that includes live preaching/teaching, small groups, worship, serving opportunities, evangelistic events, fun, and creativity to reach and disciple current and prospective students.
• Coordinate with Worship Director for worship development of student musicians and singers.
• Build relationships with students and their families by attending extracurricular activities in support of students and leaders.
• Create new or partner with existing camps, retreats and ministry events to provide students with opportunities beyond the weekly services.
• Continually recruit Christwalk Youth team members.
• Ensure that each new volunteer passes a background check, receives initial and ongoing training in their areas of responsibility and are released to do ministry.

LIFE GROUPS - Lead a team of life group leaders to create opportunities to gather people in community

• Work with the Lead Pastor to develop and implement a church-wide discipleship strategy for each age group and stage and phase of life represented in the church body and community.
• Recruit and train life group leaders.
• Work with group leaders to implement various systems for the course of each group semester to ensure all Life Groups align with the overall discipleship strategy.
• Work with group leaders to plan and approve all studies used in Christwalk Church Life Groups.
• Work with guest services and other ministries to connect people to Life Groups.

GENERAL

• Attend weekly staff meetings and monthly staff chapel.
• Assist in providing pastoral care and ministry to Christwalk Church attenders as needed or assigned by the Executive Pastor & Lead Pastor.
• Steward appropriate ministry budgets.
