Oakland Presbyterian Church is a church united by the love of God. Our greatest desire is to touch people’s lives with the love of Jesus Christ and care for one another like family. Amid a swiftly-changing and unstable world, we strive to be a strong foundation, a gathering that welcomes all with open arms and loving hearts.
The church has been a pillar of the tiny, picturesque town of Oakland for 135 years, and continues to maintain a presence in the rapidly-expanding Central Florida community west of Orlando. As one of a few mainline Protestant congregations, we continue to provide a traditional worship service, contemporary service, and Sunday School and children's programming - a mainstay of our ministry, with the only Children's Choir offered within many square miles. In addition to the sanctuary, the building houses a Fellowship Hall, a library, classrooms, and our Christian Life Center and gym, which houses our preschool five days a week. Our property is frequently in use by the community for AA meetings, Scouts, and other ministries on a requested basis.
Oakland Presbyterian is currently being served by Pastor Craig Sumey. We are members of the Central Florida Presbytery, affiliated with the PCUSA.
