Job Title: Nursery Director
Time Commitment: Part-time with weekend responsibilities (20hrs)
Accountable to: Family Ministries Team Leader
Ministry Purpose: This position will be responsible for caring for, vision casting and leading a large team of volunteers towards the care and comfort of our young ones. This position requires someone who is family friendly, servant minded and the ability to create safe/engaging environments for newborns to three-year olds.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Ministry Environments
a. Incorporate large group curriculum & serve as programming director in the Nursery for weekend services.
i. This would include: Bible stories, song selection, & complementing crafts.
b. Recruit/train new volunteers and enforce nursery policies with current coaches and volunteer teams.
i. Adopts a “replication of self” model into each environment.
c. Collaborates with the Preschool Director for big idea themes & Sunday programming.
d. Create engaging and safe environments for each of our nursery classrooms.
e. Organize and maintain the nursery to maintain a consistent level of safety and cleanliness.
i. Inspect nursery equipment, toys and supplies. Report Repair/replace as needed.
ii. Restock supplies when needed.
f. Responsible for maintaining and overseeing the budget in this designated ministry area.
2. Calendar Events
a. Prepare and lead two Baby dedication services for our stakeholder families annually. (Baby dedication is not baby baptism or confirmation)
b. Collaborates with the NE Kids team in leading and co-leading calendared events throughout the year.
c. Collaborates with Northeast Staff on outreach opportunities and partners with church during church wide events. (ie. Blitz Weekends, Easter, Christmas)
3. Volunteer Care
a. Collaborates with Northeast’s Director of Volunteer Development to create and sustain ministry care needs.
b. Creates and maintains intentional rhythms and systems to care, support and develop volunteer leaders.
Talents or Abilities Desired: Experienced in recruiting and training leaders, organizational skills, passion for accentuating parents during their child’s critical developmental phases and their spiritual development.

Education Requirements: Preferred bachelor’s degree and volunteer or vocational ministry experience.
