ASSISTANT PRODUCTION DIRECTOR

Overview/Purpose:

The responsibility of the Assistant Production Director is to help create environments for people to encounter God in a new and distraction free way and support other ministries in doing the same. This role has two primary areas of focus, coordination and leading weekend services and mid-week events. The Assistant Production Director helps equip, and empower both serve team and staff through scheduling, development, and training. The Assistant Production Director is responsible for assisting the Production Director in developing new and current systems across the production department including video, lighting, and audio. This role is also responsible for overseeing and leading staff teams and will work closely with the Production Director in leading the team and the department.

General Responsibilities

Within the Production department, the Production Assistant Director will be responsible for the following:

  2. Development and Empowerment of Serve Teams and Staff

      Success in this role will be best accomplished by assisting the Production Director in developing an environment that empowers, encourages, and cares for serve team and staff:

  • Assist and oversee scheduling of serve teams as needed for the weekend as well as clear communication of tasks and details with serve teams on a regular basis.
  • Utilize Planning Center Services to integrate, coordinate, communicate, oversee, and schedule serve team for events and weekend services.
  • Assist in developing and empowering serve team and staff to be skilled and valued members of the team.
  • Support systems and structures that are put in place by the Production Director to lead
  • Help create systems and trainings to equip for serve team and staff
  • Provide insight for big picture programming and creative planning processes.

 3. Ministry events and support 

  • Set up, troubleshoot, and run audio, video, and lighting for events and services as needed including mid-week services, events, and projects.
  • Provide insight and support to other ministries for mid-week events, weekend events, and the weekend services. This may include planning, setup, and running events.

 4. Maintenance of spaces and equipment

     Responsible for coordinating the regular cleaning and maintenance across all spaces including the Prescott location, Park Collective, and the online location to keep equipment operating at peak performance and in turn create a hospitable environment for Serve Team, Staff, and guests.

  • Proactively maintains a regular schedule of cleaning and maintenance including but not limited to dusting, sanitizing, and organizing.
  • Displays working knowledge of stewardship and demonstrates fiscal responsibility
  • Assist in maintaining a safe environment for staff and serve team members.

Assistant Production Director Responsibilities

The Assistant Production Director is responsible for leading and developing the following areas:

  • Responsible for staff team coordinating and scheduling within the weekend while overseeing the scheduling, done by respective area leaders and directors, of all weekend services
  • Utilize Planning Center Services to ensure all teams and positions are filled and equipped to fully execute weekend services.
  • Coordinate Staff team schedules and roles within the weekend to ensure all teams and positions are filled while also maintaining a schedule that fosters health.
  1. The Assistant Production Director is expected to be involved in weekend service preparation and operation across all locations. This includes:
  • Attend planning meetings as required and/or assigned
  • Assisting in preparation, programming, and setup required for weekend services
  • Coordinating with the Production Director to oversee and lead each locations team as a Technical Director
  • Stepping into roles as needed including audio, video, lighting, and other various roles needed week to week
  • Leading weekend teams through all aspects of the service and maintaining scheduled times as a Producer
  • Managing and developing serve team roles required for the weekend team

    2. Assistant Production Director is responsible for event coordination across all locations

  • Manage a calendar and coordinate with Location Technical Directors and  ministries to plan events
  • Coordinate and train staff and serve teams to run events as needed

 

Assist in maintaining and coordinating all equipment and venues ensuring equipment is properly cared for and that the department has the equipment required to carry out Heights values.

Manage and assist Location Technical Directors in the operation of each location. The Assistant Production Director is responsible for leading Location Technical Directors and ensuring each location is equipped to carry out Heights' and the Production team values.

The Assistant Production Director will work with the Production Director throughout the year to manage, lead, and coordinate larger projects and events. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Theologically and doctrinally aligned with Heights Church on important matters
  • Experienced in live video, lighting, and sound engineering. 
  • Willingness to operate and learn and be able to step into different roles as needed.
  • Highly relational (caring and personable on an individual level)
  • Effective communication skills with team members (interpersonal and group)
  • Self-starter - able to work independently in a disciplined manner
  • Demonstrated innovative and creative approach to ministry
  • Administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Must be versatile and collaborative team player with the ability to work as a team and independently
  • Proficiency in Planning Center, ProPresenter, Ross video systems, Yamaha audio consoles, Dante software, Microsoft suite, and Google suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to project a professional Heights image through in-person, video, email, and phone interaction
  • Proven ability to use good judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
