GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Communication Coordinator is responsible for ensuring clear, compelling, and consistent internal and external communications of Mission Point Community Church

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications

  • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies 
  • Improve, update, manage, and oversee the execution of communication via the website, app, emails, social media, print materials, and videos
  • Support Mission Point ministries with communications requests
  • Set follow-up meetings to requests confirming needs and timelines
  • Manage the communications request form and all requests
  • Make all registration pages in PCO
  • Develop and manage communications calendar for planning, prioritizing, and executing effectively
  • Recruit and schedule volunteer photographers for Sundays
  • Liaison with media vendors (designers, website, printers, etc.)
  • Manage communications budget

Social Media

  • Ensure quality and relevant social media presence
  • Timeliness of response to social media inquiries and postings

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

Required Qualifications

  • An evident and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Candidate must be a committed member of the MP Church Family
  • A strong sense of calling/passion to serve the local church 
  • A whole-hearted agreement with Mission Point’s Statements of Faith and Biblical Morality and Biblical Affirmations of Conduct & Conviction standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations or related field
  • Familiarity with website design and use of some web design platforms
  • Must demonstrate decision-making, creative vision, and the ability to delegate
  • Ability to understand, motivate, and support ministry leaders and congregants
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with various types of people
  • Attentive to details
  • Proficient in creative programs such as InDesign, Adobe, Photoshop, etc. 
  • Familiarity with working in social media platforms

POSITION STRUCTURE

Reports to Executive Pastor

TIME COMMITMENT 

Part-time, 25-29 Hours per Week

About Mission Point Community Church

In 2010, a group of six families were confronted with a reality that stirred a deep and holy discontent. Fifty thousand people, in a county of 70,000, claimed no church affiliation. That reality was daunting. The thought that thousands of people right in our own backyard, in a community with a rich spiritual heritage, had no connection to Jesus or His church felt entirely unacceptable.

As that group of families met in a home to pray, the Holy Spirit made it clear that He was calling us to not only be the voice of Jesus to the unchurched in our county, but also to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the underserved. As that group said “Yes,” to the Spirit’s invitation, the gathering moved from praying in a home to meeting in the back of a local restaurant…and there, Mission Point Community Church was born.

Where we have gathered has changed over the years (a restaurant, a Christian school, and now a local high school) but the mission has remained the same! We are on mission to reach our community for Jesus. We exist to become a church filled with people who show and share the love of Jesus everywhere we go, starting with those in our own county.

Although we don’t know exactly what the future holds, we are excited about what God is doing in our midst and where He is taking us. We would love for you to join us!
