About Cornerstone Church of Ione

Cornerstone Church is committed to preaching the Word of God in our church, the community, and the world through our support of International missions. Our church attendees are a blend of all ages. This includes retired professionals, young families, and mostly residents of Ione. Our leadership is comprised of a Lead Pastor, a Youth Pastor, and an Elder board.

Cornerstone Church’s two Sunday services are attended by an average of 150 people, including children. A live band, made up of congregation members, lead the church in songs of praise and worship during both services. The songs consist of contemporary songs as well as meaningful hymns. Our two Sunday services are held at 9:00am and 10:30am. Each service is approximately 70 minutes long with about 20 minutes of food and fellowship between services. Sunday School for the youth meets during our first service. Several times a year Cornerstone Church meets at a local park where we hold one large service where both church services can come and worship together.

Cornerstone provides nursery services for children up to age three for both Sunday services. We have a Children’s Program for children 3 years old up to 5th grade which begins after the family worship time in the main service. These classes are staffed by church volunteers under the charge of the Children’s Coordinator.

There are numerous small groups that meet throughout the week in various homes or at the church building. These small groups meet to study, meet needs, fellowship, pray and encourage. These groups meet on various days and times in order to make them accessible.

Our church hosts a Sunday evening youth group, ages sixth through twelfth grade, with an approximate attendance of 20 students. There are approximately six loving and qualified volunteer staff that assist the Youth Pastor in leading this group. There are various events throughout the year, including a Summer Camp and Winter Camp for the High School age students.
