Associate Pastor of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries

Level: Associate Pastor (Salaried, full-time position with benefits) 

Faith Baptist Church is seeking a passionate, energetic, leader to join our team.  The Associate Pastor of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries is responsible for providing strategic and spiritual leadership to students and the families at Faith Baptist Church.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee a relevant, creative, and Christ-centered student ministry programs at Faith
  • Plan and lead a weekly ministry strategy that encourages the unbeliever to know Jesus and the believer to grow as a disciple of Jesus
  • Develop a strong relationship with students, parents, fellow staff, and church partners
  • Recruit, develop, and train leaders who equip others
  • Regularly seek to improve Faith Baptist’s weekly student ministry experience
  • Preach from time to time or perform other duties as given by the Lead Pastor
  • Maintain a love for God and for student ministry outreach
  • Oversee Sunday morning student ministries and mid-week youth and events such as:
    • Special Youth Events and Outreaches 
    • AWANAS
    • Summer Camps
    • Vacation Bible School  
  • Maintain Youth Ministry financial budget
  • Lead students to engage in the larger ministry strategy of the church by participating in:
    • Baptisms
    • Small Groups
    • Serve Days
    • Other church ministry events 

Competencies & Expectations:

  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by action, attitude, and behavior
  • Demonstrates a lifestyle and family life that is consistent in word and practice with the teaching of Jesus Christ and consistently meets and strives to maintain the leadership character qualifications as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7
  • Masters degree (or willing to pursue) from an evangelical seminary
  • A minimum of 3 years of ministry experience
  • Organizational and administrative abilities to lead multiple areas of ministry and coordinate many servant leaders
  • Proven skills in student ministry contexts, specifically in the areas of teaching, leader training, and discipleship
  • Maintains a spirit of unity and supports other aspects of church mission as assigned by the Lead Pastor
  • Communicates effectively and courteously with others, including other staff, those in the church and community with a spirit of unity, teamwork, respect, and service
  • Agreement with and support of the church's mission, direction, and strategies 
  • Will follow the lead of the Lead Pastor and support his ministry so that there is no division in the body of Christ
  • Have a willingness to serve God and others rather than a desire to be served

What’s it like to live in Lincoln City, Oregon:

Lincoln City, located on the central Oregon Coast, and has a population of just over 10,000 residents. Lincoln City has 7½ miles of spectacular beaches, and it's no wonder why the town economy is driven by tourism. During peak summer months, the population can approach 30,000 tourists on the weekends.   Living in Lincoln City, Oregon, you'll enjoy a mild maritime climate, with daytime highs of 50 degrees in the winter and low temperatures rarely dipping below freezing. You'll get quite a bit of rain, around 76 inches to be exact, with most of the rainfall occurring during the winter months.  Homes on the coast are on the higher side but certainly not the most expensive spot to buy a home on the Oregon Coast. There are apartments for rent, single family homes and more apartment style units under construction.  With the abundance of beautiful scenery, tons of outdoor recreation nearby, beautiful beaches, and laid-back lifestyle, there's a lot to like about living in Lincoln City, Oregon.  

Salary and Benefits:

Full-time salary based on experience, Health Insurance, Retirement Account, Three weeks paid vacation per year.
