Multi-generational Pentecostal Church in Greenville NC with a history of doing good music. Current praise team of 4-5 singers and 4-5 musicians, doing a mixture of modern worship music with an occasional hymn usually for offerings or features. Have historically had a choir but now only used for special occasions (Easter, Christmas, etc).
Looking for a full-time music pastor who can lead all facets of the music ministry. Proficiency on the piano and/or guitar is a plus. Able to direct a choir a must. Working knowledge of worship band instruments needed and an ability to lead a praise team necessary. An understanding of audio/video equipment is also desired, though there are other pastors and lay persons available in this area.
The church does a mixture of modern worship music (ex: "Echo" by Charity Gayle), praise standards (ex: "There Is a Fountain" Integrity Music), and hymns (ex: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"), leaning more towards the modern songs. Stylistically the church music is rather traditional with piano-led band which also includes drums, bass, acoustic guitar. Moving toward a more modern sound is desired.
A person with the skills to lead the music ministry is desired, but the ultimate job requirement for this position is someone who will lead the congregation into the Presence of God. Excellence in ministry is important, but the experience of worshiping the Lord and sensing him in our corporate gatherings is paramount.
The worship pastor will also work closely with the lead pastor and church staff to accomplish shared goals and special projects.
