Position Description

Job Title: Student & Volunteer Pastor

Status: Full Time

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Job Description Title

The Student & Volunteer Pastor is responsible for overseeing the student ministries and host team volunteers at Covenant Church. This role also will involve opportunties to preach and teach.

Position Responsibilities

• The Student role is to help connect students in grades 6-12 to Jesus Christ and Covenant Church. 
• The Volunteer role is to help recruit, train, lead and equip volunteers on the host teams to serve effectively in their roles. 
• Provide regular oversight of volunteers within areas of responsibility
  • Student Leaders
  • Host Team Volunteers
• Position will involve training in and opportunities to preach and teach

Student Ministry

• Recruit & equip volunteers to assist in student ministries
• Create teaching calendars for Jr. High and Sr. High 
• Lead weekly small group for students
• Create regular outreach opportunities
• Connect students to ministry opportunities at Covenant Church to serve regularly
• Utilize camps, mission trips, and retreats for discipleship
• The end goal is students that Know God, are Growing in Community, Discover their God-given purpose and are equipped to Make a Difference

Volunteers Ministry 

• Equip our host team volunteers to use their God-given gifts to Make a Difference
• Yearly volunteer appreciation night
• Develop new volunteer onboarding and training processes
• Raise up volunteer team leaders
• Recruit and connect volunteers to needs within the church at large
• Host Teams Positions Include:
  • Greeters 
  • Ushers
  • Coffee Team
  • Connect Team
  • Security
  • Set-Up/Tear Down 
  • Sunday Morning Host

Personal Expectations

• Maintain God ordained priorities in your life.
• Attend/Lead a Small group consistently.
• Give at least 10% of your income to the vision of Covenant Church
• Participate in weekend worship experiences at Covenant Church with your family.
• Agree to adhere to the conduct laid out in the Covenant Staff Handbook.
• Be a champion for the Covenant Staff Code.
