Position Summary:
• Oversee and coordinate the student ministry (7th-12th grades) at Tabernacle. The Student Pastor takes on the responsibility of guarding the spiritual culture and character of the student ministry and its volunteers/staff.
Reports to: Executive Pastor
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Plan, promote and develop weekly and annual programs to meet the social and spiritual needs of students.
- Make time available to counsel students, parents, and small group leaders as needs arise.
- Provide opportunities for students to be directly involved in missions and ministry, and to develop mission-mindedness and servant-heartedness.
- As allowed by law, minister on school campuses, and be involved in supporting students in their extracurricular activities.
- Seek out opportunities to have spiritual conversations with both students and parents on salvation, baptism, evangelism and discipleship.
- Encourage students to participate in corporate worship and identify opportunities for personal worship.
- Encourage students to become involved in serving in the church body.
- Promote personal outreach in the student ministry (i.e. sharing your faith, living with an outreach mindset, inviting friends to church, etc.).
- Create a Student Leadership team and a team of adult volunteers for developing and setting expectations and requirements of both.
- Work with and encourage volunteers as they serve in the youth ministry.
- Enlist and train adult workers to ensure adequate involvement in student activities.
- Communicate well, both verbally and in written form, with students, parents, and staff. Use multiple modes of communication effectively to keep those groups fully informed.
- Prepare and present the student budget. Supervise and coordinate all expenditure of student ministries budget in accordance with policy guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Qualifications and Required Skills
- College graduate - does not necessarily have to be in Student Ministry or Christian education as long as there is significant work experience in students and/or family ministries.
- A demonstrated passion and commitment to the spiritual growth of students and their families.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, equip and encourage others.
