Job Summary:
This full-time position will be responsible for all maintenance, care and upkeep of all buildings and grounds for Crosswater Community Church. Major duties include overseeing maintenance, manual labor, electrical, fire/safety, plumbing and waste management,
events set-up/tear down, administration of facility order requests, housekeeping and grounds. This position is responsible for ensuring a positive first impression of the Crosswater Community Church (CCC) campus and supporting ministry needs through excellent
facilities execution and support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Oversee the facilities support staff, working together as a team to perform the manual labor associated with the physical buildings, programing, and room preparation.
- Set and manage timers for the HVAC and door locking programs/systems.
- Serve as the primary staff member to lock and unlock doors each Sunday morning as well as being available each Sunday for facilities needs.
- Ensure all CCC areas are cleaned, stocked and safe. This includes overseeing daily spot cleaning in all public areas (bathrooms, worship center, meeting rooms) through vendor management and ensuring proper safety cleaning processes are executed.
- Create and implement process/procedures in the facilities functions of the church including work order management (asset inventory, HVAC systems, changing light bulbs, restocking, making repairs, etc.)
- Oversee the facilities aspects of event scheduling, planning, attending, and execution. Collaborate and ensure excellence in execution of facilities for events with team (setup, teardown, etc.)
- Assist church ministries by overseeing all components and or vendors of security, emergency preparedness, janitorial, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, landscaping/grounds, structural, equipment, and setups/teardowns. This includes supporting facilities
needs for Crosswater Christian Academy.
- Ensure clean and presentable landscaping and grounds of CCC, performing direct landscaping work or contracting out, as necessary.
- Steward money, time and resources through effective vendor relationship and management, smart purchasing of tools and equipment, well organized work space, healthy work/life balance and inventory asset management.
- Offsetting vendor costs when capable of hands-on work such as furniture builds, office/classroom restructuring, minor plumbing needs, HVAC controls, painting, lighting, janitorial, plantings, etc.
- Ensure building operations consistently comply with all local zoning laws and regulations.
- Effectively manage the facilities team staff through team trust, unity, collaboration. This includes ensuring spiritual health and well-being and excellence in work and job performance.
- As needed, support aspects of design, planning, construction and special vendor/contractor management projects.
- Be able to manage a budget and research costs and invoices.

Expectations & Preferred Qualifications:
- Assoc. degree (or equivalent) and at least five years of progressive facility support related experience. Degree in electrical, plumbing, construction management, landscaping, or related preferred.
- At least one year of experience effectively managing a team. This person must be able to lead a team and have a broad knowledge of large facility maintenance, improvements and project management.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and other factors. Be a proactive self-directed and a problem solver, tending to problems before they arise.
- Set weekly goals and execute to completion.
- Must be flexible; willing to adapt to varying schedules and week to week workload. This position requires working Sundays and willing to work on call weekends, evenings, holidays and as needed for events or emergencies.
- Skills in building maintenance, knowledge of systems affecting a building’s day-to-day operations, and have the ability to make basic repairs.
- Must have knowledge of simple plumbing, electrical, and general repair work.
- The person must have strong communication skills in order to interact with vendors, contractors, subordinate employees, churchgoers, and anyone making a facilities-related request.
- Knowledgeable and trustworthy; ability to handle secure areas and ensure safety throughout CCC.
- Must be familiar with general cleaning techniques and able to follow safety requirements.
- Physical Requirements: This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for all facilities management and support staff.
