Youth Pastor

Full Time – Exempt 

 Principle Function:The Youth Pastor will provide leadership and develop and expand the ministry of Park Hill Baptist Church to the youth of Park Hill Baptist Church and and the surrounding community

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead the Youth Leadership team to strategize, plan and implement all efforts at leading youth to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
• Provide vision and leadership for all major events and activities connected with youth ministry – SS, Wednesday night youth service, VBS, camps, mission trips, retreats etc.
• Strategize, implement, and oversee evangelism efforts for youth
• Preach/Teach on a regular basis for youth gathering
• Assimilate new youth and their families into the life of Park Hill Baptist Church
• Provide pastoral care, counsel, and direction for youth at Park Hill Baptist Church
• Secure leadership, provide direction, have budgetary accountability as required for the youth ministry

Qualifications:

• Loves being with youth of all ages and seeing them mature in their faith in Christ
• Working towards or completed MDiv or MARE - (preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and teach youth effectively
• Ability to communicate effectively with all youth ministry stakeholders i.e. parents, youth leaders
• High degree of organizational skills
• Ability to recruit and develop new leaders
• Mature faith in Jesus Christ
• Love for the local church
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal

• Strategize with youth leadership team and other youth ministry influencers to grow the youth ministry

• Grow daily as a follower of Christ
• Pastoral duties as assigned: hospital visitation, weddings, funeral etc.
• Oversee the hiring and managing of seasonal youth ministry intern(s) as needed

• Denominational Organizations – works on denominational assignments, committees as time allows and maintains good relationships with the association, state and Southern Baptist Convention.
