Pastor of Children and Family Discipleship
Purpose:
To develop and lead a discipleship program for children and their families at Oasis Church to know God and make Him known in Ormond Beach and beyond.
Summary:
The Pastor of Children and Family Discipleship will help shape and develop a ministry that encourages participants to form a life-long faith. The goal is to provide an environment where children learn about God and His Word, as well as to create and oversee systems for discipleship development for their families. The Pastor of Children and Family Discipleship will also lead the staff and volunteers under their leadership to take steps toward that vision. The focus will be aligned with our 6 Core Values: Glorifying God; Moving the Message; Engaging the Community; Investing in People; Giving our Time, Talent, and Treasure; and Running the Race.
Responsibilities:
1 Develop and implement a program that helps children and families to know God and make Him known throughout their developmental years in accordance with the doctrinal standards of Oasis Church. This includes oversight and focused involvement with children’s ministry and discipleship opportunities for their adult family members.
2 Prepare and execute separate children and families meetings and events (including but not limited to Sunday morning Oasis Kids program, Kids Camp, and a mid-week program) creating a relevant space for children and adults to hear teaching, connect with peers, and develop lasting relationships through small groups.
3 Interact with parents to promote a family-friendly ministry and to create overall awareness of Oasis Kids.
4 Develop and train an Oasis Kids leadership team to serve Oasis in their area of giftedness.
5 Recruit, develop and coach adult volunteer leadership team to invest in relationships with children and their families.
6 Utilize all relevant forms of social media as an avenue for communicating with and reaching Oasis Kids.
7 Utilize the Oasis Kids budget/funds with the oversight and approval of the Lead Pastor and administrator/ministry coordinator.
8 Form connections with the parents and guardians of Oasis Kids for the purpose of encouraging their involvement and spiritual growth in various areas of the church, including small groups and other discipleship opportunities.
9 Work with the Worship Pastor, Student Pastor, and other appropriate staff to provide care and oversight to the kids ministry team.
10 Other pastoral duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
