QUALIFICATIONS

1. The candidate must be a born-again christian and meet the ministerial qualifications as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
2. College degree and formal theological training desired.
3. Minimum 2 years of ministry experience required.
4. Administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills needed.
5. Experience with youth and/or kids ministry strongly preferred.

THE POSITION

The Family Life Pastor is a combination role that oversees our kids ministry, and directly leads our youth ministry and small groups.

Oversee our Children’s Ministry

1. Oversee and organize First Church’s children’s department. The Children’s Ministry consists of all ministries related to children ages birth - 5^th grade.
2. Provide pastoral leadership to our Early Childhood and Kids Church Directors with regular team meetings.
3. Responsible for the check-in system on Wednesdays and Sundays and coordinate church background check program.
4. Ensure that our ministries for kids are stable, consistent, safe, well-staffed, positive, creative, and fun.

Direct leadership over the Youth Ministry

1. Lead our Wednesday night youth services.
2. Provide student’s with regular opportunities to attend special events.
3. Reach out and build relationships with families who have children/youth in our community.
4. Recruit volunteers and have regular team meetings.
5. Promote, fundraise, and attend Open Bible youth events (camp, Breakaway youth convention, etc.) and fully leverage the assets available through the Open Bible Churches organization.

Lead our Life Groups Ministry

1. Our Life Groups ministry is currently in need of revitalization
2. Develop and execute a Life Group ministry strategy
3. Recruit Life Group leaders and host homes and provide pastoral guidance in their ministry
4. Primary promoter and mobilizer of our Life Groups ministry.

COMPENSATION

The Family Life Pastor is a full-time position. The position includes family health insurance, employer contribution to retirement, three weeks PTO, and other fringe benefits.
