Job Description:
An energetic, organized person who is passionate about the spiritual growth for today’s children. The successful Summit Kids Coordinator will support and execute ministry logistics and expenses, curriculum planning, volunteer scheduling, and ministry
events.
The Kids Coordinator will provide leadership to all elementary-aged ministries at Summit. This person will create a thriving team of elementary volunteers (adults and teenagers) who create impactful experiences and develop meaningful long-term relationships
through intentional small groups.
The Kids Coordinator is a paid position. If the candidate proves fruitful ministry, our intention is to promote this position into a director/pastoral role when budget allows.
Work Hours
The Kids Coordinator will work 35-40 hours on a typical week. Minimum in-office hours:
- Saturdays 3pm-6:30pm
- Sundays 8am-12:30pm
- Mon thru Wed - 9am-3pm
- Additional hours to meet 40 hour expectations are flexible based on the candidates flexibility and needs of the company.
**Additional hours may be required during events and holidays to include Thursdays and Fridays.

Leadership Responsibilities
- Demonstrates commitment to spiritual growth by spending regular time with the Lord.
- Lead or attend a Summit Community group on a regular basis.
- Have a lot of fun serving the Lord Jesus Christ while leading processes within the ministry to ensure achievable excellence.
Key Duties:
- Shepherd leaders and staff within your sphere of influence.
- Support Summit’s Spiritual Pathway with your leaders and teams.
- Cascade all pertinent information from informational meetings down to your leaders and teams.
- Assist with implementing Summit’s Leadership Development Process with your leaders.
- Oversee the following:
- Weekend service programming and experience.
- Provide pastoral care and support for children and families
- New Family Integration.
- Volunteer Leadership Development.
General Responsibilities:
- Bring helpful information and insights to move Summit’s purpose forward.
- Help protect guardrails and ensure we continue to move forward within those guardrails.
- Ensure classrooms set up/break down appropriately; including curriculum needs, safety standards, and cleanliness guide lines.
- Manage the needs for the ministry, including but not limited to: leadership development, volunteer management, budget and expenses, weekend preparation, inventory and purchasing elementary needs.
- Preach and teach to children and their parents as needed.
- Assist with curriculum decisions, event planning and execution.
- Oversee all family and volunteer communications and databases.
- Pray for and encourage the children and their families, as well as the
- Communicate with the Family Pastor any needs, injuries, issues, or ways to help improve the Kid’s ministry.

Qualifications:
The candidate should be a mature Christian and should have a clear sense of God’s call to children ministry. The candidate should subscribe to the Summit Christian Church Statement of Faith.
- Undergraduate Degree
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
- Organized with great attention to detail.
- Successful in directing others and building teams.
- Passion for growing children and families spiritually.
- Prior experience working with children and administrative functions.
- Able to adapt to changes quickly.
- Knowledge of volunteer management/scheduling.
- Creative and energetic.
