Summary of Position:  

The position of Connections Director is responsible for connecting with newcomers and shepherding them to take a next step into a group and/or serve team. He/She will act as the point leader for the Connections Team that warmly welcomes newcomers on Weekend Services, assists them to take next steps, and manages the newcomer follow up process and system in alignment with the mission and vision of MPCC.? 
 
What you’ll be doing: 

• Recruiting, training, and empowering?the Connections Team to warmly welcome and host newcomers at Weekend Services.  
• Establishing sustainable and scalable systems and processes across Connections ministries that encourage newcomers to return, take next steps, and connect in groups and/or serve teams.  
• Working with the Adult Ministries Team and Pastors to design and implement strategies for newcomer follow up & follow through processes and systems.   
• Host newcomer gatherings, church member orientations, and seasonal connection events as needed by the Adult Ministry Team. 
• Develop a tracking system for newcomers and measure effective connection rates and retention with the Adult Ministry Team.

Required Experience: 

• Proven track record and leadership experience to recruit, train, and inspire volunteers. 
• Experience imputing data and tracking people with a church management software system.  
• 3+ years experience in team-building and managing volunteer teams and systems. 
• College Degree or Professional Experience Equivalent. 

Compensation: 
This is a full-time salaried ministerial position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. If the employee is not ordained or commissioned, he will be eligible to commissioned by Mount Pleasant Christian Church and may apply for ordination. As such, the employee is eligible to receive a housing allowance and other tax benefits granted by the federal and state governments. This position is also eligible for family health insurance from Mount Pleasant’s group plan.  
 
Work Schedule: 
The base expectation is 40-45 hours each week, with seasonal exceptions such as Christmas and Easter when additional worship services are added.
