Job Description:

FBC Midlothian is a healthy, growing, contemporary church just south of Dallas, Texas, with a post-pandemic attendance of 1100 in attendance each Sunday.  We are looking for an energetic and experienced person to be our full-time Preschool Pastor, serving preschoolers birth through Kindergarten and their families.  FBC Midlothian has a well established, high-impact Preschool Ministry with around 125 volunteers serving in our Preschool Ministry.  Additionally, we have a high-quality weekday education program (2 days a week) that falls under the supervision of our Preschool Pastor with a Director to oversee the program.

Check out our website (www.fbcmidlo.com) to see that we are not a typical "First Baptist Church" congregation.  We love our theological roots, but we embrace change and healthy processes, relationships, and boundaries as we try to reach and transform our community.

We are looking for someone who is educated in the area of child development, early childhood education, and/or preschoolers’s ministry (Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred).  We prefer for the candidate to have at least 3 years of full-time employment as a minister to preschoolers at a church.  The candidate must be a visionary and strong leader, be a self-starter, have excellent people skills, and exhibit a team-oriented mindset.  Additionally, the candidate must have the capacity and demonstrated experience with managing large programs, with preference given to those who have done so in an early childhood education setting.  Most importantly, the candidate must be a follower of Jesus Christ and be passionate about giving preschoolers a healthy first impression of their Heavenly Father!

Job duties would include:

  • Providing intentional partnerships with families in the spiritual education of their preschoolers;
  • Implementing exciting, Biblically-sound, and relevant programs and curricula for preschoolers;
  • Recruiting and equipping effective preschool volunteers;
  • Supervising the Weekday Education Director, Preschool Ministry Associate, and Preschool Coordinator;
  • Overseeing the quality of education of our Weekday Education Program;
  • Participating in outreach and hospital visitations;
  • Participation in weekly staff meetings and periodic staff planning retreats;
  • Administration and oversight of everything related to the Preschool Ministry.

If you possess these skills and experience and have a passion for partnering with families in the spiritual development of their preschoolers, we want to hear from you. Please submit your resume with three references and a photo to:

About FBC Midlothian

This is not a typical First Baptist Church.  People who visit our church are always surprised because "it's not what I expected."  Our people invite friends and when they attend the first time, the culture is not what they expect.  The church is 19 years into a major cultural shift from a traditional, rural church to a thriving suburban church that keeps evolving to meet the needs of a booming community. We're in a fast-growing community just 30 minutes from downtown Dallas, TX and 35 minutes from Fort Worth, TX. Hundreds of homes are built each year and the school system hosts two large high schools. Our church has sought to develop different worship styles to address multiple generations. A traditional service and two different contemporary services provide lots of good choices for a church that refuses to leave any generation behind. The lead pastor is a musician by background and has worked in collegiate and student ministries, small-group discipleship ministry, and has been the lead pastor for 19 years. Our culture is healthy and the opportunity for reaching our community is tremendous.  The church is ready to take another progressive style step with our largest two services.  Prior to the pandemic, we hosted between 1300 and 1600 people on our campus each weekend.  Every week we are welcoming back families who were absent for months, and they're bringing their friends.  While we are Baptist in theology and associations, we surprise newcomers with our culture and style.  Creativity is a prime value and we're ready for a fresh voice in leader positions to helps us to continue to evolve.
