YOUTH PASTOR

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create a dynamic youth ministry that is engaging for the youth in our community.

• Plan and execute weekly services. Study and prepare messages for midweek. Youth service held on Wednesday evenings.

• Build relationships and disciple students by taking an active interest in their lives and by connecting regularly with students in the community (attending school, clubs, and/or community functions)

• Promote and attend Potomac Youth events such as youth camp, Fine Arts, and Youth Conference

• Recruit, develop, and equip youth leadership team

• Develop and maintain clear and concise communication with volunteers, parents and students.

• Develop and maintain an online presence via social media platforms and on the youth website to maintain communication with students and parents.

• Network with local high schools

• Cast vision for local and global missions including Speed the Light

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

• Has the ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly, both written and verbal, as well as work well with others of all ages.

• Management Skills: to supervise people to accomplish a task or event with excellence

• Strategize, design, and organize programs and events

• Teaching: able to organize and teach effectively in a way that inspires people to action

• Has self-motivation to work independently when needed as well as make valuable contributions in a team setting.

• Highly relational with proven ability to connect with middle and high school students.

• Life Long Learner: actively engaged in ongoing learning to increase skill and effectiveness.

• Positively responds to constructive feedback

• Ability to recruit youth ministry team members

• Create systems and build and multiply teams

• Discernment: Ability to understand and serve the needs of congregation, Lead Pastor, and community
