Job Summary
The Children’s Pastor coordinates all of the Children’s Ministries of Faith Assembly and its campuses collectively known as “Kids Way.” The Children’s Pastor facilitates spiritual formation opportunities for kids from ages newborn to 5th grade, including
but not limited to weekend services and small groups (Rainbows, Girls Ministries, and Royal Ranger programs).
The Children’s Pastor also oversees the chapel services for FCP and FCA’s elementary students. They create various discipleship opportunities and family events including Kids God Encounters, Kids Camp, VBS, Fall Festival, special events, special services,
and more. In addition, the Children’s Pastor advocates for and represents Kids Way in a variety of capacities and offers pastoral counseling for kids. The Children’s Pastor oversees the Kids Way staff and volunteers.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and/or respond to phone calls and emails within 24 hours of receipt
- Provide management, leadership, and guidance to the Kids Way staff
- Maintain quality control in the various functions of Kids Way
- Meet weekly with the Kids Way staff
- Attend the monthly Pastoral Staff Meeting
- Attend the monthly Office Staff Meeting, Staff Lunch, and Staff Chapel
- Support the Kids Way team in preparation for services
- Oversee all of Faith Assembly’s children’s ministries and activities
- Help implement the Lead Pastor’s overarching vision and create opportunities for the kids to be involved in church-wide events
- Cast vision to the Kids Way staff and leaders and create strategies to accomplish the Lead Pastor’s vision
- Coordinate large group ministries for children ages zero to 5th grade (Sundays)
- Coordinate small group ministries for Nursery, Rainbows, Girls Ministries and Royal Rangers (Wednesdays)
- Coordinate weekly chapel services for elementary and preschool students at MSC and CFC
- Oversee the Nursery ministry and ensure childcare needs are met for Faith Assembly services, small groups, events, and more
- Ensure Nursery workers’ schedules are in compliance with labor laws, especially for workers who are minors
- Coordinate special services (i.e., Easter and Awaken)
- Coordinate special events such (i.e., Kids Camp and VBS)
- Create and maintain procedures and policies for Kids Way and Nursery
- Provide training for Kids Way staff, leaders, and volunteers
- Oversee all Kids Way ministries, including those at multisite locations
- Manage the Kids Way annual budget
- Advocate for Kids Way ministries and its various needs
- Handle customer-service related issues with Kids Way parents
- Provide pastoral counseling for kids
- Assist with church-wide events as needed
- Coordinate Kids Way and Faith Assembly Events
