The preaching pastor will work in partnership with the Administrative Pastor and the Executive Board to provide direction and oversight to the congregation; act as an advisor in all phases of the Church and Christian life; and promote the spiritual welfare of the Church and congregation. Reponsibilities will include, but are not limited to: preaching weekly worship services to include communion and offering baptism by immersion weekly. Responsibilities will initially focus on the weekly sermon with gradual involvement in the administrative functions of the church.
Qualifications include those identified in scripture. Heritage Christian Church offers baptism by immersion in water and communion on a weekly basis. The pastor must hold firmly to these beliefs as well as the bylaws of the church. The pastor is expected to follow the Bible and lead by example.
Other qualifications include: demonstrated experience in preaching and teaching; demonstrated positive impact and involvement at a previous church, communityy and mission work; licensed in the state of Ohio; a masters or bachelor's degree in preferred.
A little over four years ago, by the grace of God, the prayers and dedication of people from the communities of Bellbrook, Centerville, Springboro, and Waynesville, Ohio, Heritage Christian Church of Centerville was planted. We lean more toward traditional worship, with the tag line: "Worship the way you remember." We offer communion every Sunday to all believers . Both men and women are encouraged to volunteer for the basics needs of the congregation. An invitation for prayer and commitment is offered every service. Our goal is to glorify God by developing a congregation of believers to carry out the Great Commission of our Lord as revealed in Scripture.
