About Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale

The first Calvary Chapel was started in Costa Mesa, California, in the 1960’s, as a small nondenominational church of 25 members, pastored by Chuck Smith. The Lord blessed that small group, and now Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is home to 30,000 believers and has planted 850 churches in North America and almost 200 churches in South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale was one of the early church plants, founded in 1985 by Pastor Bob Coy and a handful of believers. Three decades later, our Church continues to grow as our pastors teach God’s Word—chapter by chapter, verse by verse—and as we reach the lost through various ministries and venues, including satellite campuses, on-line streaming of services, and an active social-media ministry. We have become a growing church of believers who are filled with God’s Spirit, hunger and thirst for God’s Word, and love the lost. In accordance with what His Word declares in Ephesians 3:20, the Lord has blessed us more than anyone could have ever asked, hoped for, or imagined. Today, our Church, led by Lead Pastor Doug Sauder, is a vibrant and healthy part of the body of Christ. Each week over 22,000 adults participate in the weekend and mid-week Bible studies, and over 3,000 children and 600 youth learn the Word of God through our dynamic children’s and youth ministries. Additionally, approximately 10,000 viewers from all around the world watch our online weekly church services.
