Woodland Church, a Wesleyan church located in the Southwest corner of Michigan, is prayerfully seeking a new Lead Pastor, whom God has chosen, to lead us into the future. Woodland Church is a body focused on pleasing God. Our mission is to follow His mandate by equipping people with Biblical literacy, reaching the lost and developing leaders on staff, on the board, in the congregation, and throughout our ministries.
Woodland is a unique, family-oriented church in a community representing different ethnicities, socio-economic levels and ages. We strive to make it a safe place for non-believers and believers to explore faith, ask questions and chase after God. We are committed to intergenerational experiences and desire to be a hub to build disciples that will then go into their workplaces, homes and communities with confidence to make disciples. Our loving, motivated, and compassionate congregation needs a true visionary to lead us.
Woodland is seeking a mature follower of Jesus Christ with a consistent and deep prayer life who demonstrates a personal passion and commitment to evangelism, outreach and discipleship that is evident in their personal life. The congregation needs a transparent and authentic person that is a gifted and effective communicator, preacher and teacher; a leader who is seeking after the heart of God and is willing to submit to counsel and accountability. We are petitioning for an individual who aligns with Wesleyan theology and is a true team player that will model and honor healthy boundaries in their own life and is capable of leading others to live within healthy boundaries. A relational leader who seeks intentional community engagement and has a natural gift for networking and communicating the vision of Woodland Church to the surrounding community, as well as investing in, and building partnerships with local churches, businesses and local government. It is essential that Woodland’s lead Pastor is excited about and in alignment with the stated mission of Woodland Church. That he/she whole-heartedly believe in, and embrace, the Vision Picture of the church and, most importantly, the Bible as the Word of God.
We know God is faithful and will provide Woodland Church with a Pastor that can clearly and passionately communicate biblical truth through sermons that connect believers and non-believers to our Creator. One who is dependable in challenging times and who embraces the healing of staff, board and our congregation by having tough conversations, speaking with grace and kindness and with truth in love.
Woodland Church is a multi-site and multi-generational church in the Battle Creek/Calhoun County area of Michigan. We are passionate about helping people find and follow God in a way that is authentic and relevant to our culture today. We create environments, ministries, and programming with un-churched people in mind. We want to manage the tension of helping people feel at home in their search for Christ and be a place where believers are thriving in their faith. To do this we are intentional about creating engaging environments for authentic biblical community that mobilize people to live on mission.
