As the Human Resources Director you’ll oversee all Human Resources for about 400 Willow staff members. You’ll develop a compelling vision and strategy for the HR team and how it supports the staff of the church. You’ll ensure we have a competitive strategy
for compensation and benefits and are in compliance with all applicable labor and employment laws. In addition, in collaboration with the HR team you’ll create clear and efficient processes for HR functions related to hiring, transitioning, staff development
& training. You will also own and create plans for complex staff relations issues and those involving executive staff and ensure there are clear and efficient staff guidelines along with policies and procedures in compliance with policy governance executive
limitations. You’ll also get to play a primary role in helping to shape staff culture.
Job Responsibilities
- Take point leadership on employee relations issues including those involving executive staff
- Lead and support performance management initiatives including performance review processes and performance improvement plans
- Co-lead the Ethical Review Committee
- Develop a set of clear and concise guidelines for staff
- Ensure treatment of staff (executive limitations) are upheld and in compliance with all applicable labor & employment laws and our own policy governance
- Provide leadership, support, coaching and clarity to the HR staff team
- Conduct regular 1:1 and team meetings
- Equip and remove obstacles for the team to ensure HR functions are executed at a high level
- Prepare and manage the HR operating budget
- Develop strategies and processes to identify and develop talent within the organization
- Ensure Willow has a solid bench for future leadership roles

Education & Experience
- 4-year college degree preferred
- Leadership/managerial experience
- 10+ years HR experience; at least 5 in a leadership role
- HR leadership experience in a non-profit or church setting is highly preferred
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and/or CEBS professional designations are a plus but not required
