Worship Leader

Cornerstone Church of Blaine is seeking a worship leader to lead contemporary worship services that glorify God and engage worshipers.  This is a part time position (10-15 hours each week) that pays $15 - $20 per hour.  Job requirements/responsibilities include strong vocal and guitar or piano skills, attending weekly staff meetings, organizing and managing volunteers for Sunday worship, organizing and leading one weekly rehearsal and organizing and leading one Sunday morning service.  

Cornerstone Church is a theologically conservative, spiritually healthy growing church plant in Blaine, located in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Our average attendance is around 80-100 people per week.  We meet in the Roosevelt Middle School, and currently have one service per Sunday.  We believe that life is better with Jesus Christ in this life and the next, and so we exist to lead people into growing dynamic relationships with Jesus.  Our ministry model is to go to the unchurched, develop relationships, invite people to a life-changing experience of worship in a contemporary worship service, and promote spiritual growth through small groups. This is a part-time position that reports to the Senior Pastor and will oversee a variety of volunteers.

Desired Qualifications:

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him.
• Experience in leading worship, vocalists, and musicians.
• Ability to arrange music for various instruments in a contemporary worship band.
• Sense a calling to serve in this kind of ministry role.
• Track record of success as a team builder.
• Proficiency in playing piano or guitar with the ability to lead while playing.
• Track record of being a servant leader.
• Experience leading and recruiting volunteers in all areas of Worship Ministry in a church with various age groups.

Desired Abilities:

• Possesses a heart for the spiritual formation of those in the congregation, and the worship ministry.
• Relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading worship.
• Skilled in the use of Pro Presenter software for video projection
• Familiarity with a sound system and how it runs/Ability to learn as you go
• Ability to work with chord charts and sheet music
• Commitment to ongoing spiritual, personal, and professional growth.
• Fully support the mission, vision, and ministry philosophy of Cornerstone Church of Blaine
• Must have strong vocal skills.
• Must have a teachable heart.
• Effective Communication, both written and verbal, in a variety of settings.
• Must be self-motivated

 Job Responsibilities:

• Meet weekly with Pastor/Elders to communicate vision and direction of ministries
• Volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling for music ministry and audio-visual ministry teams
• Coordinate set up of sound equipment and stage, as well as take-down on Sundays
• Select songs and determine flow of music
• Direct weekly practices and Sunday morning worship
• Leading worship team on Sundays (including Christmas, Easter, Baby Dedication, other high-traffic Sundays at discretion of Sr. Pastor)
• Ensure volunteers are properly trained 
• Set and model high standards for conduct and role responsibility
• Oversight of ministry budget
