Director of Preschool Ministry

Lone Oak First Baptist Church is looking for a Director of Preschool Ministry.  We are committed to EXALT CHRIST, MAKE DISCIPLES, and PASS THE TORCH of faith from one generation to the next and to the ends of the earth.  We're looking for someone who can lead our Preschool Ministry to do exactly that -- with parents and volunteers and kids.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop a clearly defined vision and strategy for discipleship of preschoolers and their families. The preschool vision should work in conjunction with the overall vision and ministry of Lone Oak FBC to “Exalt Christ, Make Disciples, and Pass the Torch.”
• Build and develop the Preschool Ministry Leadership Team, which consists of key committed and gifted volunteers.
• Recruit, select, train, develop, and lead volunteers for the Preschool Ministry.            
• Develop and implement a strategy for equipping parents and families to spiritually nurture their preschool children.       
• Provide oversight and planning for all aspects of Preschool Ministry programming, including
  • Sunday morning Preschool Life Groups
  • Wednesday night Preschool Missions programming and Childcare
  • Family events/programming designed to equip parents
  • Curriculum selection/development for preschool programming
• Work with paid childcare staff to provide childcare for special events
• Develop the budgetary needs for upcoming years.
• Provide shared oversight and partnership with our ministry to special needs children and their families.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work as a team player with the rest of the ministerial and support staff. This includes making every effort to attend all staff functions (i.e. – staff meetings, retreats, planning sessions, etc.)
• Participate and provide support and leadership (when necessary) in some church-wide events, even if they do not directly affect the Preschool Ministry.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• The ideal candidate will have at least 2-4 years of experience in Preschool or Children's Ministry. 
• A Bachelor's Degree is required; Education (particularly Early Childhood) degree would be preferred; seminary training would be ideal.

Paducah, Kentucky, is a mid-sized town with most of the "big city" resources available right here in West Kentucky.  Downtown Paducah sits on the confluence of the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers and is home to several big industries.  About 122,000 people live within a 20-mile radius of Lone Oak First Baptist Church.  Paducah is a UNESCO "Creative City," and is home to two theatre companies and the Carson Center for the Performing Arts.  We're also twenty minutes from Kentucky Lake, Land Between the Lakes, and Grand Rivers (lake resort area).  And, Steven Curtis Chapman is from here, so that's cool.
