The Big Picture
Lighthouse Bible Fellowship (lbfchurch.org) is seeking a Senior Pastor who loves and treasures God’s Word, desires to boldly preach it with power, shepherds the people of God and wisely encourages others to grow in their love for Christ in unity.
The Church
Lighthouse Bible Fellowship is a Bible centered, family-oriented church made up of people who love the Lord and His Word. Upholding Scripture through expository preaching and practical application is paramount in all we do. We are a church family of about 100-125 attendees (pre-covid) on a typical Sunday morning. We would like to see growth in the number of attendees, but we do not seek to become a "big church" environment. Lighthouse is a church family that is committed to serving each other, praying for one another, and having fellowship with one another. Unity among believers, based upon our love of Christ and our salvation in Him, is one of Lighthouse’s strengths. The congregation is made up of committed Christians, many of whom have been members of Lighthouse for a long time.
The Candidate
The Senior Pastor must be a personable, caring shepherd who relates well to people from all walks of life, wisely and graciously encouraging them to grow in their love for Christ in unity. As the first among equals on the elder board, the senior pastor assesses the church’s need and purpose through the lens of Scripture, establishes a vision together with the other elders, and leads in the implementation of that vision.
The Qualifications
We are seeking a Senior Pastor who meets all biblical qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4, etc.). He will also be a man who has the particular gifts and skills to lead Lighthouse at this time in our church life, and in the direction God is leading this church. The preferred minimum education is a seminary graduate along with 5 years of pastoral experience. We want a strong Biblical preacher and one who is in line with our doctrinal distinctives. Trained in and experienced in Biblical counseling is a major plus. He must be a man committed to ‘equip the saints for the work of the ministry.’ (Eph 4:12)
