The James Place Synergy Coordinator, in partnership with Elmbrook Church and in cooperation with Lad Lake Synergy, will oversee all aspects of the James Place resource center located in Synergy. This position will work closely with a team of volunteers to
provide in-class support to teachers, resource support to parents and holistic care to students working toward re-entering mainstream school.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Demonstrate a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Active participant or member of Elmbrook church who supports and endorses the statement of faith, core values and vision
- Teach, model and uphold the mission of James Place: “Building relationships, responding to needs and offering hope in the name of Jesus”
- Experience in community-based ministry preferred
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required
- Ability to self-motivate
- Experience developing others professionally, personally and spiritually
- Models servant leadership in both attitude and practice
- Desires to build positive and healthy relationships with other staff and volunteers
- Heart of service for those who have been disenfranchised
- Teaching or school-based work experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Skilled at Intergenerational and Cross-Cultural Communication
General Responsibilities:
- Assess opportunities within the school, to add capacity to teachers, parents, students and administration to enhance functioning of the school
- Develop strong relationships with the principal, school staff, teachers and students to establish our presence as part of the fabric of Synergy
- Build relationships and collaborate with other non-profit agencies in the community to provide helpful resources
- Regularly evaluate James Place services to discern when to start, improve or discontinue services.
- Recruit, train and maintain a team of volunteers to carry out daily, weekly and seasonal programs and services that build community and enhance quality of life.
- Conduct regular Leadership Team meetings to share successes, problem solve and shepherd the volunteers
- Attend all James Place Director’s meetings
- Pursue training to stay current in trends in ministry, leadership and community engagement
- Be prepared to connect James Place guests with opportunities for spiritual growth and involvement in faith communities as initiated by the guest.
