Position: Pastoral Care Assistant (Full Time)
The primary role of the Pastoral Care Assistant will be instrumental in providing administrative support to the Pastoral Care Department, including the Counseling Pastor, and the Director and Associate Director of Pastoral Care four (4) days per week. (One
day per week, assistance will be provided to the Financial Ministry, as needed.)
A SNAPSHOT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle pastoral care matters of a lesser nature. These duties will include, but not limited to, handling inquiries to the Pastoral Care Department, prayer requests, assist with follow up, visitations, funerals, and data entry.
- Assist with handling all transactions pertaining to Pastoral Care Forms and Pastoral Care Intake Forms.
- Provide administrative assistance with scheduling appointments, training sessions, the Chaplaincy Ministry, Baby Dedications, Water Baptisms, Support Groups, Bereavement Ministry, Guided Prayer, and Follow-up.
- Provide administrative support to the various ministries and their Department Heads under Pastoral Care’s oversight as needed, helping to ensure these ministries of Christ Church have the resources and supplies, etc. (i.e., scheduling in Christ Church calendar,
training materials and manuals, copies, books, sign-up sheets, etc.), that are needed for the ministries to serve the needs of the congregation.
- Assist with any special projects or events, training sessions, workshops, seminars conducted by the Pastoral Care Department.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Proficiency demonstrated in Microsoft office software.
- 3-5 years experience in the administrative field.
- 3-5 years of people-helping experience.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing and proofreading skills.
- Associates or certification degree.
- To be a strong self-starter and creative thinker.
