The Contemporary Worship Pastor will oversee all contemporary musical worship ministries at Brushy Creek. He will work under the Senior Pastor to oversee and coordinate all details pertaining to the contemporary worship services of Brushy Creek.
The Contemporary Worship Pastor is a visionary who is creative in leading people to God, communicates a direction in a way that inspires those around him to join in the pursuit of that vision, and serves not solely as a worship pastor but also as a shepherd to the people who serve in the worship ministry. This is to be done specifically by planning, coordinating, and leading worship in the contemporary worship service.
Music:
Responsible for planning, organizing, and leading all aspects of musical worship for contemporary worship service.
Recruit and train all light, sound, and production personnel for contemporary musical worship every time BCBC gathers for worship.
Develop and administer an annual budget for the contemporary worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church.
Coordinate and communicate scheduling of activities and the related use of facilities as needed to minimize conflicts with other groups or events.
Create musical opportunities for worship/service for those in our congregation with musical abilities.
Attend the traditional worship service weekly and assist as needed.
Responsible to participate in special musical worship events at BCBC.
Pastoral Care:
To be the pastor of everyone involved in the worship ministry and take spiritual oversight over them.
Visit the hospital on assigned day as well as all people related to the worship ministry in event of hospitalization or death.
Be the on-call pastor for emergencies in staff rotated schedule.
Student Ministry:
Assist the Student ministry of Brushy Creek by Coordinating/leading worship during their services.
Responsible for leading and training all light, sound, and production personnel for Student Ministry.
Responsible for recruiting, equipping, and leading students to assist in Student Ministry worship band.
Digital Ministry: (beneficial/desired but not necessary)
Responsible for establishing and protecting the digital footprint of BCBC.
Create, edit, publish and share consistent, relevant content (website, social media platforms, ministry videos) that creates meaningful moments of connection for our online community
Equip and organize communications team
Daily interaction with our online community through intentional messaging and comment and response management
Set up and optimize ministry pages within the local church to increase visibility and traffic of the ministry’s social content
Create and maintain a media distribution list to help promote church life moments and major events
Oversee weekly media uploads to all web and digital marketing channels
Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights, and best practices, and then acting on the information
Work with leadership to help develop, establish and maintain annual marketing strategies to meet ministry objectives
Qualifications:
A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him.
Commitment to moral purity.
Commitment to the mission, vision, and worship philosophy of Brushy Creek.
Skilled in vocal and some instrumentals.
Skilled in organization, administration, leader development, and interpersonal relationships.
Skilled in the use of technology in worship and in the use of sound, lighting, and video.
Ability to incorporate other art forms as needed to enhance the worship/celebration experience.
Seminary is preferred, undergraduate is required.
3-5 years experience leading worship in a med-large church setting
Personal Characteristics:
A pastor/shepherd, as well, as a skilled trained musician.
A heart for the spiritual formation of those in the church family and the worship ministry.
A team player with a positive attitude. Seamless integration. Ability to grow a team. Grow/mentor volunteers. Someone who wants to belong.
Humble
Relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading a large church in worship (great stage presence).
Able to laugh at himself, doesn’t take himself too seriously.
Understanding and ability to work with and improve systems and processes within the department.
